  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tish--answer me this: who are the "Children" of the promise made to Abraham?

K
well they are not Arabs, Romans, American, Russians or even Jews who DO NOT believe in Yeshua as King....but the story isn't over yet, and in the mean time while we wait the land belongs to the Jews

hey it probably doesn't even matter what I think cuz the Jews in leadership don't even appreciate that ABBA doesn't want them to give away the land...They are set stubbornly on this road of disobedience to God so I guess My opinion is just that an "opinion "in man's eyes...but I am praying for them everyday especially for the Messianic Jews who suffer everyday over there

Tishri1,

God wants to get the strife out of us,.....as the Children of Israel had while in Egypt,....but many strove with The Lord and with Moses,.......and didn't enter in the promised Land.

Moses EVEN missing this opportunity as well.

EVEN MOSES!!!!-----> He "Experienced God" but still lost THE LAND:

And many have died in the Land now,.....some due to strivings with Their Maker,....just like us when we strive and fuss.

And when we can be stopped by God's Spirit---of our strife and debatings and such, then we can with Pure Hands receive His Grace to have Mercy aright towards The Natural Olive Tree branches. If we WILL crucify our own flesh to cease from sin.

I think even I'm an infant when it comes to this issue.

In my heart of hearts.......if Israel will acknowledge their need for God and stop striving JESUS WILL COME,....but while Gentiles and even Christian's are still striving then we have not fully come in yet now have we?

A PROPHET MUST AS WELL PONDER THIS TOO.

I am beginning to understand that our own strivings about this, is somehow delaying ISRAEL'S TIME, because we in the Body of Christ are still all up in strife.

In God's Fear,
Connie

YEP........WE ARE STILL PLAYING WITH OUR MANY TOYS AND MAKE-UPS.

THUS ISRAEL, IS DELAYED OF HER PROMISES OF JESUS COMING MAINLY - FOR THEIR SALVATION,...because of our own hinderances. No wonder Paul warns of so many things.....but when heeded it's actually LOVE UNTO GOD AND UNTO OTHERS!!!

WHICH IS GOD'S WHOLE LAW, EH?

So, you meant Christians

It was certainly ambiguous to me (and probably others) when I made my reply earlier.

Oblio,

If Tishri1 wishes to call them, as I do too,....."Messianic believers" it's ok. There should be no strife on this point.

Move on, eh? From that matter at least it kind of looks like being pushy.

So, do you have any 'Grand-Sugars' for your parents yet?

Tishri, the Apostles said that circumcision was not necessary to enter into the new covenant with God. God had accepted Gentile and Jew alike. Baptism, in some ways, was and is the new circumcision.
I know that! That was the #1 issue between the Believing Gentiles and the Jews in power at that time...How can these be Filled with the Power of God's Ruach HaKodesh and not be circumcised like us? Of course the Apostles new why...because their Man Made Conversion which included circumcision was not nessessary for salvation....yet there was a thorn- in- the -flesh group out there constantly harrassing these new converts to get converted anyway......again these were not Yeshua's disciples doing this

No strife. Believers could mean anything, and religious Jews still believe in a Messiah, just not ours and he ain't here yet I really don't care what ethnic Jewish Christians are called by ya'll, I was only trying to decrease misunderstandings in a mixed crowd

Well in this forum at least you can be sure when others are saying 'believer' or such it's based on GOD'S WORD----JESUS CHRIST THE MESSIAH.

GRAND-SUGAR..........OH THAT'S GREAT!!!
Are you excited?

To Connie ...

Connie, with all due respect, but the statement that believers are to die for their enemies is not what Christ taught.

The turning point of the NT is that Christ died for his enemies.
It is His role.

RO 5:6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

We (believers) are told to lay down our lives for our friends, other believers.

1JN 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

I addressed our actions concerning the enemies of the gospel, below.

jsisrl said:
And concerning intercession for others ...

There are only 2 intercessors in the NT -

RO 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

RO 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

HEB 7:23 Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; 24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

I do not know of any other intercessors in the NT.

Connie, Christ died for us (his enemies) and He intercedes for others (we cannot).
You know why we cannot? Because God already has an Intercessor - His Son.
He will not accept our intercession.

Also, concerning our actions when Israel sins against believers -

When Israel sins, we are to do several things.
1. Rebuke Israel, hoping the she will repent.
2. Pray for Israel's salvation.
3. Help her, but only when she comes to us for help.

All 3 are backed up with Scriptures.

Thanks,
Ed
