• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Although it feels like it, Not everything we go through is to be looked at as a bad thing. When you take for example, Job (Book of Job from the Bible), he was afflicted by many things, but throughout all of it, he did not sin and led an upright righteous life. God rewarded him for that. The things that afflict us are, more or less, tests, to see how much we love God. And Who is really normal anyways? You are a unique person who God had in mind before the foundations of the earth. You are special. When you think about others with worse health problems, that still praise God everyday, it puts things into perspective a little. To be able to rise above the things that ail us are the strengths that God gives us with the Holy Spirit that dwells in us. Satan and the world want you to feel bad for the way you look on the outside, because that's what he is about, ego, materialistic type things. God looks upon your heart. He wants the person you are inside. The person you are to the world should be a reflection of that, regardless of skin conditions. Look at what racism does to people. People are consumed by hatred because of skin color. But that's the world, that's not you as a Christian. Christ is with you, and will always be with you. You are my brother in Christ, and I love you. Christ loves you. Some people would even go as far as saying the "bad" things that happen to us are opportunities to receive blessings. I became epileptic at the age of 15, and have been taking medicine for it for over 20 years. It could have hindered my life, I could have "cashed in my chips", and said I was disabled. But I am not. So rather than give in to what people want you to be according to how these you, BE WHO CHRIST WANTS YOU TO BE. That is a person who shrugs off insults, and perseveres no matter what the world throws at them. Give it time. Most of all, praise God for giving you the opportunity to know him. He has given you more than you realize, I think. God bless. I will include you in my prayers for healing and understanding.
