Having played the previous two Doom titles, I am looking forward to D3. However, I refuse to spend $55.00 for a game. I'll wait for it to drop in a price a bit before buying it.

Well doom went gold ages ago and should be in the U.S on the 5th, ill have to wait for the 6th. After upgarding my computer is now pure muscle power and doom should blow me away graphics wise. I think the game will serve a good reminder as too why im a christian, cuz hell is one place i aint wanna go!! This bloody planet's bad enough!!

I thought about it more and I cannot help but feel more skeptical of it. The game is supposed to be a dual platform release. While certain titles work well on dual-platform releases, e.g. GTA, Splinter Cell, etc. A game like Doom could be severely limited with level size due to it. A good example is Deadly Shadows. The game is a excellent game, one of the best to be released this year IMHO. But by releasing it as a dual-platform title, they debased one of the greatest things that made Thief so wonderful: the large levels that took hours to fully explore.
So I think I'll lurk about on the Doom forums to get a feel for the game. Then maybe I will purchase it when the price drops.

i cant wait for D3, HL2 and Halo2, all of which are gonna b awesome games, especial D3, it got a 96% in PC Gamer Magazine, and i think Half-Life 2 got a good grade as well

though it needs a beefy graphics card, i'm sure i'll rock my world

- ATI Radeon 9600 Pro = 62 FPS!!!!
i wont need to buy another card for hl2 (hate radeons, though it's good)

Im getting it next month for my birthday. Die hard fan, even played the original Doom for nintendo and computer when I was like what, 8? lol. Doom 3 will make you soil your pants again and again in fear.
Oh and Id has confirmed that future server mods will support more players for multiplayer, probably starting at 8 then going up. (Doom 3 is meant to be very strategic, and more players equal less strategy and more trigger happy)

Most of the 3d shooters fail to offer anything new in the way of story line and game play. Granted, the engines are nice, but that is not the single factor to purchasing a game. In regards to D3... I simply refuse to pay $54.99(US) for a PC game. Paying $49.99 for a PC game is to much IMHO, and the only way I going to pay that price, is after I have read several positive reviews. Nonetheless, I am still likely to wait for the price to drop to $39.99.
