To all Muslims, especially in UAE.

Do you have a positive or negative comment on the construction activity in UAE from an Islamic perspective?

Below is an obviously man made construction of islands in a Muslim country.

At that size it could be an easily made photoshop fake even I might pull off...
but I doubt that is what he's implying.

i was watching a show called Globe Trekker and they had this on.. it is really neat!

of course.. it is destroying the underwater habitat which made these areas such a destination for diving touring.

but... if i could, i wouldn't mind living there

I'm sure the purpose of the thread wasn't to discuss the creation of the islands, but how did they do that? Is it for the sake of art?

After watching arab satalite television for years, and quite a bit these last few weeks, I've come to understand that Emirates like to do things big and extravigantly. Now, from my own humble, muslim point of view, I'd rather see the money the UAE spends on 6 star hotels and private islands spent on charity. It boggles my mind that one can spend so much money when a few miles away, people starve. But then again, human beings in all countries suffer from this disease of the heart, greed.

As far as I know, the UEA is making effort to estabilish itself as a tourist destination so that, if they ever run out of oil, there will still be economic activity in the country.

the last report that i heard, which is hearsay, of course..


was something along the lines of 30 years left of oil in the UAE, which is why they are so aggressively trying to transform their country at this time, whilst the money is flowing, so to speak.

they are one of the few "oil nations" that is investing in its future without oil.
