There are troubling things going on in the middle east, what's new. Islam teaches that their god is the true god and the prophet mohammed is their prophet, all believers of other faiths must be killed, how do we deal with people of this mindset? I believe it will only be resolved when armageddon takes place. My 2 cents or less.

I am a firm believer in religious freedom. When one religion's objective is to wipe out all other religion's, I see that as more than an infringement on religious freedom, it's a recipe for disaster. For this reason, I believe Islam should be banned from the United States, and those insisting on the profession and practice of it, be shipped out to the Islamic country of their choice. Islam is a power religion, and the carrying out of it's dominion, may start peacefully (as may be in the US at this time), but ultimately with enough followers, will be carried out by violence (hostile takeover). I believe we must take a stand, for the sake of our children, for the sake of future generations, for the sake of religious freedom.

Personally, I believe Islam and so-called "Christian" (;)) church are enemies of true faith and religion. One tries to suppress the Gospel and any freedom in general and the other tries to supplant Gospel with a false system of works righteousness. Yup, I'll have to go with the Reformers on this one...

all believers of other faiths must be killed.....

Is that actually true? Or is that just assumed from a verse taken out of context by both opponents of Islam and Islamic extremists?

This verse from the Qur'an is interesting and seems to imply tolerance of other religions;

The Qur'an says, "Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah (God) and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." (Qur'an, 2:62)

There are two ways to look at Islam. Not only is it a (false) religion, it is also a political philsophy.

As a religion, I believe we need to share the Gospel with every Muslim.

As a political philosophy, I believe the only way the rest of us, our families, our neighbors, and our nations, will be safe from Islam is to kill the Islamicists.

(Qur'an, 2:62)

"Second, despite the claims of even President Bush in a number of public statements, Islam is not solely a “religion of peace.” Yes, there are verses of toleration in the Qur’an: Sura(chapter) al-Baqarah:256 says “there shall be no compulsion in religion;” Sura al-Furqan:65ff says that Allah will be merciful to those who repent and do good works; and Sura al-Nisa’:19ff enjoins Muslim men to provide financially for wives and ex-wives. But verses such as these are arguably outweighed by others: Sura Anfal:12ff and Sura Muhammad:3ff command the beheading of unbelievers; Sura al-Nisa’:34ff allows for beating of one’s wives and in verses 74ff and 94ff, promises great reward for those who die fighting for Allah; Sura al-Ma’idah:51 says “Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends.” Of course there are violent sections in the Bible—or at least in the Hebrew Scriptures/Old Testament (Joshua and David were military leaders as much as religious ones). But no one denies that, as many—both Muslim and non-Muslim—deny these violent and misogynistic passages in the Qur’an. Many arguments can be made against such verses (they must be contextualized, they are applicable only to that time, they are metaphorical, etc.) but one cannot say they do not exist. Someone who simply rehashs that “the Qur’an teaches peace” obviously hasn’t read it. No doubt most Muslims do not read the passages about decapitation as a blueprint for today. But just as some Christians take literally, for example, the command of to Christ handle poisonous snakes (Luke 10:19), some Muslims take literally the injunction to behead unbelievers. And the latter practice is a bit more injurious to other folks than the former.

Third on the misinformation parade is the allegation that jihad does not mean holy war. This falsehood crops up often in text books and in the media, where the politically-correct tirelessly repeat that jihad actually means only “striving to be a good Muslim.” This is half-right. But early on in Islamic history, jihad came to mean fighting against unbelievers in order to expand the territory under Muslim rule. al-Bukhari lived in the 9th century CE and was the most authoritative compiler of sayings attributed to the prophet Muhammad; he mentions jihad many times as meaning “holy war.” Jihad as “Muslim piety” is mainly the province of the Sufis, the mystics of Islam, and has become a minority view today. Furthermore, Islamic history is chock-full of leaders declaring jihads against their enemies—even the moderately Muslim Ottoman Empire declared a holy war against the French, British and Russians in World War I!" - SOURCE

Me and a friend have been praying for muslims around the world for a while now. Scripture says the gospel will be preached throughout the world, I think this must include Mecca so have been praying during my life time the gospel will be proclaimed freely in the streets there! God is doing great work amongst muslim people right now and many have come to Christ :clap:

It's important to remember to that Muslims don't treat the Koran as we treat the Bible. The more conservative (including many moderates) hold strictly to the rule that it can only be read in Arabic, and even then, only by men. They don't generally have daily devotions like we do. So it's not so uncommon for many of them to not know what it actually says.

This verse from the Qur'an is interesting and seems to imply tolerance of other religions;

(Qur'an, 2:62)

In islam, the later texts supersede the former if there is a change. The koran concludes much more violently than it begins.

From time to time and place to place islam has been "hijacked" by moderates, but that is not mohammad's islam. Mohammad would never tolerate muslims and infidels living together in peace as equals.

The violence done in the name of islam is in keeping with the nature of mohammad.
The violence done in the name of Christianity is done in stark contrast the the nature of Christ.

Islam is as comparable to communism or fascism as it is to any other religion. True islam is not just a religious sysytem; it is also an economic, politcal and social system. There is no aspect of life untouched by islam in an islamic society.

I've actually read the Qur'an. It's pretty interesting, but it's also confusing. We have to be aware of the history of the Qur'an when we read it.

One section of the Qur'an teaches tolerance and peace amongst religions. That was during the time that Muslims were a minority being persecuted and bashed for their faith.

Another section teaches that there shouldn't be tolerance. It teaches to force conversions and to kill the infidel. This was gathered during the time that the Muslims were a majority.

We must also remember that the Qur'an and other Muslim texts very immoral.
