That was the Duke of Wellington's famous reply after having been accused of being Irish.
i dont need to explain nowt im michaelb not wellington!!!So now you'll have to explain to us what's so bad about being Irish
But you agree with his sentiments about the Irish, very interesting.michaelb said:i dont need to explain nowt im michaelb not wellington!!!
who say i do ?But you agree with his sentiments about the Irish, very interesting.
You certainly seem to have no issue with his sentiments on the Irish. So much so that you choose to quote him, I think this adequately shows the kind of person you are.michaelb said:who say i do ?
not me !!!
i used one of his quotes yeah !!!!!!
but in a different context we are talking about islam not paddys..
do you know for a fact that i aint irish ????
so if you have different perceptions of different races religions etc you are considered racist? why?PS - different nationalities are not different species of animals, therefore the analogy does not follow and merely paints you as a racist.

It's saying that, yes. It's certainly a debatable point, but it's not illegal or wrong to say that. Its Advocating That Britain Is Oppressing Them!!!!!
Other people might try and change the way things are by peaceful demonstrations. Seems fair enough to me. Why leave your own country when it can be improved? If I Was Somewhere And Felt Oppressed I Would Leave!!!!!
Oh Wait A Minute Are They Talking About The Free Health Care Or Free Handouts From The Government Or Having A Freedom Of Speech.
Oppressed??? Hah
so if you have different perceptions of different races religions etc you are considered racist? why?
people are always too quick to judge !!!!
am i irish?may very well be
is my wife black? may very well be
do i have muslim friends? maybe
so you see its easy to judge people !!!!!
i come on here with one or two posts and it may ruffle a few feathers but it gets people talking which is what these forums are for. am i right?
i dont try to change anyones views just trying to get sensible discussions thats all.
exactly my point if they were so oppressed they wouldnt have free speech would they? And they're exercising their right to free speech by protesting. The sort of attitude which says that they don't have the right to protest is very likely to make people feel oppressed.
I don't think anyone is saying these guys arn't being a bit um, dense. But it still stand the have this freedom, just sit back and have a giggle as they freely demonstrate against oppression.exactly my point if they were so oppressed they wouldnt have free speech would they?
there aint many countrys in the world whose government is as lax as ours yet they say it is an oppressive country. reeks of double standards..
would you be able to go to saudi arabia and wave banners saying behead those who insult jesus?
You might disagree that they're oppressed, but surely you don't think that they have the right to say that they're oppresed?exactly my point if they were so oppressed they wouldnt have free speech would they?
To some Muslims, it might seem as though they are oppressed. Well, cleary it does, overwise they wouldn't be protesting. The raids on mosques and private homes, as well as the attitude of a large proportion of the British public and media (the Daily Mail and the Sun, especially) go some way to explaining why some Muslims feel as though they are oppressed. I think it's possible that to say that they are oppressed is an exagerration, but it seems clear to me that they are discriminated against and scapegoated more than ever.there aint many countrys in the world whose government is as lax as ours yet they say it is an oppressive country. reeks of double standards..

on just about every raid on mosques/private homes they have found some form of terrorist activity so i beleive that gives them the right to carry out even more raidsTo some Muslims, it might seem as though they are oppressed. I suspect that in your mind this means that there is terrorist activity going on in every mosque, but I suspect it's more because the police are acting on good information.michaelb said:on just about every raid on mosques/private homes they have found some form of terrorist activity
