My favorite text is Isaiah 40:31:
Isa 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
I would be interested to hear what others see in this verse.
I don't think it is in the passive sense. It's kind of like a waitress...we say how she "waits on tables;" and this usually means she is really moving, and very busy serving customers.
"Waiting" on God is similar. We do not sit in a chair and wait for Him to do all kinds of stuff to get us moving and feeling strong and vital.
Getting busy and doing something for Him, in blessing or serving others, will "renew our strength."
I wonder. Has anyone here ever seen an Eagle "mount up" with his wings? How would what you saw correlate with this verse?
