There are only two dispensations as far as I am concerened. There was a time before God took up permanent residence in people's hearts, but that dispensation gave way to the current dispensation in which God lives inside people's hearts.

I suppose the church started when Jesus called His first disciple. Maybe we could say it started earlier, when as a child He taught in the synagogues. Maybe it was when the shepherds saw the angel and made their way to Bethlehem. Maybe it was while He was in His mother's womb and John the Baptist jumped for joy in his mother's womb. Maybe it was before He became a human being when He said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness" (Gen 1:26).
