Before watching, I thought I would hear the standard response, but I was wrong, and in my opinion, the view presented in this video represents the proper balance we should have on the issue. Please watch the entire video before commenting, I would comment further but who enjoys SPOILERS? Not me. It does contain in one of the short clips something amazing I had not witnessed before, something wonderful.

God bless!

let's see what the Bible says about:

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Peter 5:8
8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

But I do not condamn and judge canapa users, and I have also this scriptures for you people that using canapa

Titus 1:15
15Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

1 Corinthians 10:31
31Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

So what I can give is an encouragement for people:"Cmon guys lets beat the addiction in th jesus name!!!!!

If you have an argument to propose then propose it rather than telling everyone to spend a half hour watching a video.

Really i have no problems if a person believes in jesus and also smoke canapa, I think there is much more to do in other fields

my words had the intention to give and encouradgment to people that have the feeling that they could quit

Because what if for sure that smoking, canapa or tabacco, is not healty so, so only for this reason is better quit

I drink for a buzz so...I can't judge :oldman: I'm like Paul that way.

"As for me, it matters very little how I might be evaluated by you or by any human authority. I don't even trust my own judgement on this point." 1 Cor. 4.3

I don't see how getting a buzz once in a while, from time to time, is a sin. Many of use stimulants such as coffee, red bull, tobacco, etc. and many of us are addicted to these stimulants.

I took part in Lent this year and gave up coffee and it didn't take long before I realized just how addicted I was. A normal day was 6 cups of strong black coffee before 11 am. I gave it up cold turkey and suffered but I stuck with it. I still haven't had coffee because I don't like being addicted to it and I realize I have a problem.

I think the same lessons could be applied to marijuana, if you use it once in a while ok, sure. But if you use it as a means to phase out life then you have a problem. That's sinful abuse of the substance.

That all stated, I wouldn't use it myself, unless the doc gave it to me for some reason.

Yours in the Lord,

jm

because none of the Scriptures quoted in their proper context speak directly to the issue.

No one was doing it in the time that the Bible was written, so it would be folly to expect scripture to address it directly. The best that anyone can do is make inferential arguments. This is what I say to the various and creative acts of unnatural sex that people invent: not every sin has been listed, nor can it be listed, but a willing heart can figure out from the pattern of commands what is good in God's eyes and what is evil. An ungodly heart can always invent a sin not named in the Bible, but it is still a sin.

If Jesus had been at a party and the host ran out of marijuana, would he have told the servants to go out and collect lawn clippings so that he could turn it into pot? I would say no, but then, I wouldn't have expected him to do that thing with the wine, either.

Complaining about the length of the video? Why even bother posting, is it not easier to just pass by such a thread?

Some of us are not always able to watch videos, for various reasons. Also, it's a great deal harder to quote and debate with a video. Summary text is always appreciated, and it has the added advantage of making your thread more discoverable in an internet search.

I now live in Florida where medical use is legal. I am seriously considering it for my constant pain. I liked the stance in the video which aligns with my own study of Scriptures on my own.

The stance in the conference that anything that alters your mind is sin is nonsense. We sin when we worship because we don't worship as we should. Whatever is not pure and perfect is sin. Do we ever not sin?

It is never a matter of is this thing sin or not but can I do it in faith. Can I enjoy the effects of this and still trust in Christ alone? Abuse of course is idolatry. So the answer would be idolatry cannot be practiced in faith. We should not practice idolatry but even if we do as believers was not that sin covered? That in no way means we should sin that grace may abound. We seek to honor Christ in all things but recognize that even our worst failures are removed from God's unfailing justice as the East is from the West.

I grew up in the late 60's, early 70's when "pot" was the "in thing".

And I admit, I smoked until about 20 years ago.

However, science has shown that CBD oils do have some advantages.

And, I have personally seen with my own eyes where smoking "pot" after chemotherapy, and Radiation treatments absolutely reduced the sickness as a result of these treatments.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with it except that here where I live, it's still illegal except for CBD oils.

And, considering how my employer has treated me in the last 19 years, I can say, and I mean it, on my retirement day, the moment I leave the gate, and I am "officially" retired, legal or not, when I'm off the property, I'll have one ready. All the stress, all the anxiety I went through from 2013-2016, I owe it to myself.

Had it been legal, perhaps things might have been different. But stress and anxiety took such a toil on me, I was up to almost 2 packs of cigarettes a day.

Until that day, I must "render unto Caesar what is Caesar", and here where I live, Caesar says its illegal.

God Bless

Till all are one.

Joe Rogan talks a lot about pot on his podcast and according to him there are two types of weed. One to make you chill out like Snoop Dog and another that gives your body a buzz and helps your body relax or recover from heavy workouts. I've never smoked weed so I thought I'd ask.

Yours in the Lord,

jay
