Is this wrong?

I'm wondering what everyone thinks about touching yourself. Is this a sin? Am I going to Hell if I do it?

The Bible doesn't say it is wrong. As with anything, anything done in excess could be wrong, but everything should be kept in moderation.

i think it is a sin but if you ask forgiveness and stop then you will not go to hell.

Welcome to CF. If you believe on Christ alone for salvation, then you are not going to hell. I think masturbation is a sin, but God forgives.

Thanks guys. Those scriptures were very helpful. It's so difficult for me, because I don't know if my conviction comes from what I was taught(preacher's kid) or from the Holy Spirit. It's something that I battle with and I don't know if it's something that could keep me out of Heaven. I just wish that I knew. There are times when you can't control your bodily urges and you just do it to satisfiy the urge. I've prayed about it, but have never recelved absolution one way or the other. I know that it's wrong to "lust" after others. So porn must be a sin, but what about when your not using any visual stimuli at all. No pictures of videos. Then is it wrong? I don't know, maybe this is one subject that isn't concrete. Man, I wish that it was.

Different people have different view, though it isn't in the Bible. It could be considered wrong, though it is important not to say 'Though shall not...' just because you think it is against God's will, when it's not actually in the Bible. But to be safe steer clear from it.

However you will not go to hell, providing you have accepted Jesus as your saviour and have asked his forgiveness.

Thanks again. I really believe that coming to this site and getting your feedback as well as reading some of the other threads has helped give me a clear perspective on this subject. I'm going to settle in my mind that it's wrong. Better to be safe than sorry. It will be a struggle, but "greater is He than he that is in the world". Thanks for your Christian support. I aint sure.. I have heard about a bible verse that says you shall not spill your own seed onto the ground, but I have no idea if it really is in there..

I can tell you this much, self pleasure won't wreck your life like a scandalous female will. I quit drinking and sex all at the same time and my life has been getting better since then.. plus, to put it quite frankly to you, I take better care of myself than most women could, anyway.

Matt 5:28 will tell you that it's a sin to use visual stimuli or to think about a woman in an impure way but I know that it's difficult not to.. I just try to minimize time spent on impure thoughts and that certainly does help.
