I have medical issues and no help on NHS so far. But, I'm wasting my life away by drinking alcohol. I'm paying for private rehab next Tuesday using my fathers inheritance who sadly passed away last August. He was an alcoholic also.

I hope he's watching me from heaven, and once this demon is out of my life; he will guide me and make things right.

Nowhere (that I can recall) does the Bible say, "God only helps those who help themselves". As for the second one, there are verses to that effect, e.g., Mat 7:7-> "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."

I hope you can get out of the alcohol trap and get your life together. I'm sure you don't want to follow the same path as your father did.
