  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Is this how gravity really works?

I tried to find out some years ago how gravity really works, why it attracts other objects:

I think it`s like if you take a magnet, it absorbs energy and it sends it in orbits around the core. Like waves, but everything within the wave get`s pulled in to the center, because the gravity-waves penerates your body or object. The closer to to core, the shorter the wave is and you get pulled in-wards faster and faster as the wave get`s shorter.

In empty air, vacuum, there`s no air above it to push it down, so it falls more or less freely. Do you get my idea, the gravity-ripples penetrates the body and psychially pulls it to the center of the magnet:

I was originally made fun of for this idea, they ridiculed me. But you can actually observe that if you rub a strain of cotton for example, the closer your finger is to the strain of cotton, the faster it pulls into your finger. I made a basic picture to show

Is there really any other theories on how it works?

Okay, just to be clear: what are you meaning when you use the word theory? Because if you mean like 'an idea', then no, that's not a theory.

I mean, there is general relativity.
True, but it is still more about the effect of mass on space than how it works. We know any mass has pull with other mass, and this curves space. Now that might be the "pull", but I am not so sure.

Curvature of space hasn`t been proven, I think. This "fabric" of space they talk about, it isn`t proven. It`s only been speculated about because something holds galaxies together

Fair enough.

But there's a lot more going for it than your idea. Like... could you even create a test to back up your claim?

I mentioned it actually. If you rub a strain of cotton, you see that the closer your finger is to the strain, the faster the strain pulls to your finger

That's not gravity. That's friction. Do you even know what gravity is?

That was my theory, that a magnet for example sends ripples in orbits around the core from the energy it absorbs from it`s enviroment. The closer you are to the magnet, the shorter the ripple, hencer you get pulled inwards faster and faster

That's not a theory, that's a hypothesis, and one you really have no way of testing to show that it could be correct or not.

But everyone else comes up with theories and hypotheis they can`t prove, like dark matter and curvature of space, for example

I disagree. It does not reach the level of a hypothesis; it doesn't even deliver the features of a speculation. The best one can say is that it is an uncontrolled spasm of distressed neurons.

No glory for coming up with the very first theory about gravity in the world

Both have been conclusively demonstrated.

That's not even true in the slightest since the people talking about dark matter and the curvature of space are putting in the work to find evidence that those things exist.

Your idea... does nothing, and I am being bluntly honest in that regard.

But it's no the very first theory about gravity in the world. It's not a theory or a hypothesis. It's an idea. A quite rambling and very difficult to prove idea.

Seriously: what would an experiment to show this look like?
