Science is more interested in profiting from problems. Why would they 'prevent' them? Unless there's money or fame in it science generally ignores problems.

God will rescue us from our 51 percent-plus evil nature, so we won't cause the problems that we cause ourselves today. No specifics needed to understand that.

Atheistic science is science that supposes to solve spiritual problems by physical means, as opposed to the application of spiritual truth (as quasi-social science) that actually addresses the root cause of (those) problems.
That said atheistic science can facilitate certain solutions, such as developing a better cocktail of drugs for putting to death dangerous criminals.
