Is this creepy?

I was talking to a good friend about relationships and such and she brought up my girlfriend(For the purposes of this thread, we'll call her Anna). I am very devoted to her and my friend brought this up and she said that it was a little creepy. Especially after I said that I would be perfectly willing to die for Anna if it meant she would be safe or happy. So I got to wondering, is this creepy? Do women find it creepy when someone is that devoted to them?

If I or any other person would be in a life threatening situation (let's say a burning house) and a man would be willing to risk your life to get me or that other person out, that I find not creepy.

If a man would make that kind of statement in a conversation, I would at first classify this as an exaggeration. I would think he might want to impress me. But I would take note of it, I think I would be a bit cautious. That statement suggests a certain determination. The kind of determination you can observe with people who are obsessed with another person. I think I would be overwhelmed in the sense that I would be afraid his sense of commitment is way out there.
