CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't think that there's anything wrong with a ten year age gap providing both people are consenting, mature and hopefully in love.

Depends on how mature both of you are. If you are immature for your age, you'll get along great. If she is mature for her age, you'll get along great. I was very mature in my early twenties and preferred older men. I still do, actually.

I'm not "30something" so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post in this forum; but, this thread DID seem relevant to me. 
I'm 20. I just recently went out w/ a 36 year old man several times. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as the older guy isn't doing it for some sense of "power".

My father was in his forties when he married my mother who was just 23! I have dated women much older than me in my time so i have no problem with the age gap thing.

I was 24 when I met my now husband...he was 35 then.
I am 30 now and he's 41. Our age gap has not been a problem...in fact, it's created lots of fun for us! One example is when I got to go to his 20 year high school reunion with him. It was fun to reminisce along with him....even though I was, like, in first grade when he graduated. LOL

When my Husband and I met, I was 21 and he was 34, and we've been married for over 15 years...I always like older guys, and never really ever dated anyone my age...

I think it's fine as long as you're both on the same page. I think that for some people it's tough because the things they have in common are so few. It depends on your maturity level and hers. I dated an older man once, a loooong time ago, it was hard sometimes to find common demoninators.

my dad is currently dating someone two years younger than ME. I suppose if you're both happy then...congrats.
I would prefer to date a man older than me as most guys in my age group are either married, gay or in jail.
