Is This a Real Phrase?

I am a survivor of being molested as a child and am very careful who I bring around my son. A friend of mine who my son loves and who's been thoroughly background checked by the state and the Bair adoption agency because his sister has an adopted son and foster kids was playing with my son and said something that seems weird to me.

My friend tickled my son in front of me. It was normal armpit stuff, and I had no issue, nothing weird, but then he tickled behind his knee and said "let me see if you like girls."

I found that extremely strange and questioned him and he said it was just a phrase or saying. My friend spent a lot of time in the south, so maybe it's something there, but he says his family says it as a joke and they're from the north.

I've never heard it before, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. So I decided to post on here to see if anyone's heard it. He didn't touch his private parts or anything but it's so frustrating.

I really hope this is just some colloquialism I never heard before because this bothers me, but I don't want to jump to conclusions.

Never heard the phrase, but it seems harmless enough to me just from reading your post. I don't know the guy though.

Does your friend know about your past? You could ask him not to do certain things because it makes you feel uncomfortable. If he respects you, then he will stop.

I think it was probably just some harmless fun, but like I said. If this makes you uncomfortable I would tell him.
