John 13:34 .

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

Matthew 5

4343Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

46For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

47And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Matthew 5

10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Sometimes I wonder, but unfortunately it is against the rules to acuse individuals or groups of not being christian even if it is painfully evident that they are not.

All you can do is to accept that there are many false teachers and blatantly heretical and antichristian beliefs on this board and try to continue shining the light of Christ in the present darkness.

Call me nuts but I think many groups,on this board, could do a better job of being PEACE makers here. I really don't get it. If this is how Christians behave in cybar space why the heck do I want to go to a REAL church and see how people behave there???

I love you, sis!

Barb it's very sad. Unfortunately, I have seen Christians persecute each other horribly. It was a Church of the Nazarene and they, literally, ran the pastor out of town. Yes, he was abrasive but he was someone you could call at 1 or 2 in the morning and he and his family would be there.

I love you.

I've never really thought of CF as a Christian site, really. I think it is a good place to come and discuss issues important to Christianity though. I have to admit, some of the nastiest posts I've read online anywhere have been on the 'christian' side of this site. I have 'met' some wonderful people here though and some do shine through, even on posts, with Christ's love.

For true Christian interaction though, I believe actually attending church, Bible study and meeting with other Christians face to face is necessary.

Everybody, I don't care what church you are from, what are some solutions(without name calling, or informing the other person they are hellbound) to solving what is happening on the general theology forum?
I don't like the out and out fighting.
:sigh:

First, we all need to agree on who is right, and then we all need to be able to accept that we are all wrong and change our beliefs to conform to the right belief.
I for one have been wrong on many points in the past, but I have since learned that I cannot correctly form an unbiased opinion.

What I have therefore resolved to do is to conform my beliefs to those men who were given the Truth. That being the Holy Scriptures, and those Early Church fathers which were taught by The Apostolic fathers. They are the closest source of untainted and uncorrupted doctrine that we have. I have little "faith" in modern teachings because of the fruit that they bear.

As for the issue of "Who is right" that one would be Jesus the Son of God. His opinion is the only one that truely matters. If you teach anything that is contrary to the Words of Jesus, then you are simply wrong.

It is really sad when someone that call themselves christian behave not according to Christ's words of love. Being an evangelical, quite "fundamentalist", christian myself, I've also had "trouble" with certain forum-users here at CF. I think that it's okay to have strong opinions as long as you don't harrass others and discuss in a polite manner. Being a christian "fundamentalist", should really mean that you're a Christ-love fundamentalist. :)

That's fine for you, although you do not display a Catholic icon, but I do not agree with much of what the early church fathers (think Augustine onward) decided is truth. Certainly on a "Christian" forum, which supposedly welcomes equally all denominations of Christianity, I should not be told that I am wrong if I don't agree.

Your final paragraph which I've quoted above is truth to me. Jesus = TRUTH

Self-Control is key when responding to someone, and there seems to be a lack of it in many threads/posts here. As many times as I wanted to make a nasty post that could of gotten me banned...I learned to bite my tongue and let it go. Not everything we read here has to have an answer given. There are things that need to be clarified and discussed, and I understand that but the sarcasm is so thick in here, I need to wear boots just to wade through it. It's just down right rude. :(
