  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Is there such a thing?

I would LOVE to find some sort of stand to hold a book while I'm knitting (or doing whatever else it is I need my hands free for) - and it would be nice if it would hold different sizes of books - paperback, hardback, etc. Is there such a thing out there? And if so, does anyone have any idea where I can find one? I'd love to combine my two favorite hobbies. :)

I have a recipe holder and I think that would work very well for what you need.

Perhaps you could design one. With the increase in popularity of knit and crochet you might make a million! :)

I have this stand that is a large clip that attaches to a stand up light and has an adjustable "arm". I use it to hold my cross stitch patterns when working on that but It could hold any book.

They sell them in most cross stitch stores. But you would have to take it out of the clip to change the page however.

I bought a "table mate" which is like a tv tray table only it comes closer to my body as the leggs slide under the couch. I have my computer monitor on it and have used that to read or do other things while on the sofa.

To knit I have to look at what I'm doing, but I have played my SIMS game while knitting as there are times when it is faster to just put the sims on "free will" and watch them then actively play. I have used my knitting loom during that.

Pehaps if you can

Or should I say if they have it get the audio book of the book you like to read and listen while you do other things.

If not It's good to have kids that will read for me and or turn the pages for a while to earn an alittle money for there piggy banks :)

i have seen book holders near the checkout at Borders...they had different sized ones, so i would think a big one would also be able to hold smaller books...
 you just gave me an idea because my mom wants one to hold her cookbooks while she cooks!
