Is there such a thing as christian punk?

I know we have christian rock, thats mean around for years but is there a band that falls into the catagory of christian punk(alternative)? I enjoy all forms of music and so everytime I want to listing to that type of music I end up listening to Greed day again. We even have a christian Electronica DJ (my fav type of music), Andy Hunter, so why not alternative rock?

i always think of thebandwithnoname as 'punk' but I might be really wrong about its genre lol, my ability to put things into categoires is highly questionable at times!!

MxPx isn't very Christian. I'd say Officer Negative and Dogwood. Look around for local Christian Punk bands. There aren't too many main stream ones.

for a hot little local band try www.fwiwband.com it's my friends band and they're definately going places...i think they need a new singer tho, hehe...but their stuffs good, you can listen 2 a bit on their site.

"Alternative" was kind of a big '90s thing, the Christian music scene has developed into a lot more genres than just contempory, rock, alternative, and praise & worship, so it's hard to say exactly what you're going for.
But some bands you might try out if you haven't yet:
Dogwood
Kids in the Way
the Wedding
My Red Hot Nightmare

It's hard to find good punk bands that are still going these days, alot of them are underground now and not getting big plays. With the expection of poppy-punk bands like:
Ace Troubleshooter
FM Static
Hawk Nelson

but you can try em out if you want. They're not bad for rock bands, but not great as punk bands.
