CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When Jesus said to baptize in those 3 names, He was putting Himself & the Holy Spirit on equal footing with God. And Yahweh called Jesus His Son at Jesus' baptism. How can His Son not be God? And Jesus warned against blaspheming the Holy Spirit, saying it'd never be forgiven. How can the Holy Spirit not be God, given that fact? And also, Jesus said He would send the Holy Spirit in His place, which also proves He is God, as how can anyone but God be in God's place?
Only to those who don't wanna believe.
Yes, God's ACTUAL Church did such, but the RCC isn't that any more, if it ever was. It went south in the 300s AD.

Those other "sources" are phony as a $3 bill, invented by quacks & charlatans, same as those who were around before Jesus came, same as a murderer who said he killed on command of a "voice".
And the Nazarenes who'd known Him & His earthly family since His childhood, mentioned His bros. & srs. in Matt. 13:55-56.

This passage only confirms that Jesus' mother is Mary. It does not call Mary the mother of His brethren but rather singles Him out as the son of Mary. What did you think this passage would prove?

'Tis common sense that they were referring to His siblings, as they were wondering why Jesus was so much superior to them & the rest of His family. They wouldn't otherwise be comparing Jesus to them.

It still doesn't make them Mary's children. Any children Joseph had before would be called Jesus' brothers and sisters.

There you go. Same for Mary, there are numerous references in the Bible about brothers or brethren that are siblings and not of the same parents. Thus there is NO SCRIPTURAL PROOF that Mary had other children. None. Insisting that the word must comply with your modern understanding of the word for Mary but not for others in the Bible is mere speculation.

Absolutely none that he didn't, but the attitude of Jesus' brothers towards Him is consistent with Jesus NOT being the eldest, so Scripture does imply that Joseph was a widower.

Hello! I'm fine with that interpretation. But I've heard a simpler one that I also consider a possibility.
Since the priestly duties in Hebrews are spoken of in the present tense, Hebrews might have been written prior to the Jewish war. In that case, the cloud of witnesses might refer to living people who were old enough to have experienced Christ's ministry on earth.

Not so. The witnesses are the angels who observe the grace of God toward mankind with amazement and rejoice when each sinner repents, believes the Gospel and is saved.
All those who have died in Christ are in Paradise, totally separated from this world, and who have no idea of what has been happening since they died and their spirits went to Paradise.

There are no Scriptures that show that Mary or the Saints have any influence on us, or that we should pay any regard to them at all. They are mere human beings who are dead in the grave and their spirits are totally separate from our material world.
