Paradise isn't heaven; it's the area in hades where the souls of the righteous go
you must move out of the OT and into the new. Abraham's bosom is what I think you are referring to.

And please show me a Scripture where the dead hear prayers !
why ask me to show you scripture. The bible doesnt command me to listen to the bible. The bible does command me to listen to the Church.
And there's joy in HEAVEN, not paradise, when a lost person becomes saved.
I'm not sure where you came up with this idea. Perhaps you can show us?

Why do you claim that? The early church in the Bible taught the scriptures and wrote the scriptures for them to be READ.

I'm not sure where you came up with this idea. Perhaps you can show us?

Luke 15:10 - The very words of Christ. "In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

Hmph. The head of your Church is a pope, chosen by other men. The Head of MY Church is JESUS CHRIST, & the Bible is His "Owner's Manual".

My question was sarcastic. You can't show me the requested Scripture because THERE ISN'T ANY.

From the words of Jesus Himself. Many times, He used the word ouranos, which is heaven in English, but only once is He recorded as using paradeisos, which is paradise in English He clearly separated them.

If Mary only bore the flesh of Jesus, then where was the Divinity? When did Jesus become both fully human and fully Divine?
Jesus was always fully divine, and for eternity had pre existed Mary's birth.

Luke1v46And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord
47and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

Mary rejoiced in God her saviour. ie. Mary needed Jesus as her saviour because she was a sinner just like everyone else.

Jesus's humanity comes via Mary's bloodline, ie. Jesus is king in the heritage of Judah, and therefore required Mary's DNA.
Mary represented fallen humanity and provided absolutely nothing towards Jesus's divinity.

And please show me a Scripture where the dead hear prayers !

For the first fifteen hundred years, Christendom understood death as the temporary separation of body and Soul ( and they never had trouble explaining the "death of God"). It were the Reformists who deviated from the teaching and redefined death as "slumber", "deep sleep" etc.

If a Spirit is able to intercede for others when it is with the body, naturally, it is able to intercede for others when it is without the body. In fact it is the body which ties a Sprit to the physical space and time so departed Souls should be able to interact with God freely.

This puts the burden of proof on the Reformists - can you show me Scripture which says departed Souls cannot intercede for others?

Just curious, what is your opinion on the Lazarus (of Lazarus and the the rich man) concerned about the spiritual life of his relatives?

is she the mother of our salvation?

our hope?

This is not the same context, but if not for Mary, salvation would have still rise for the Jews from another place:

Esther 4:14 For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

He was only the Mother of our Lord in the flesh. She was not sinless.
She did not die for our sins. She did not live a sinless life. She did not raise herself from the dead. She is not God. She was not assumed into heaven.

1 Corinthians 15

15 1-2 Now, my brothers, I want to speak about the Gospel which I have previously preached to you, which you accepted, in which you are at present standing, and by which, if you remain faithful to the message I gave you, your salvation is being worked out—unless, of course, your faith had no meaning behind it at all.

3-8 For I passed on to you Corinthians first of all the message I had myself received—that Christ died for our sins, as the scriptures said he would; that he was buried and rose again on the third day, again as the scriptures foretold. He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve, and subsequently he was seen simultaneously by over five hundred Christians, of whom the majority are still alive, though some have since died. He was then seen by James, then by all the messengers. And last of all, as if to one born abnormally late, he appeared to me!

9-11 I am the least of the messengers, and indeed I do not deserve that title at all, because I persecuted the Church of God. But what I am now I am by the grace of God. The grace he gave me has not proved a barren gift. I have worked harder than any of the others—and yet it was not I but this same grace of God within me. In any event, whoever has done the work whether I or they, this has been the message and this has been the foundation of your faith.

If the resurrection is the heart of the gospel how can any Christian deny life after death?
12-19 Now if the rising of Christ from the dead is the very heart of our message, how can some of you deny that there is any resurrection? For if there is no such thing as the resurrection of the dead, then Christ was never raised. And if Christ was not raised then neither our preaching nor your faith has any meaning at all. Further it would mean that we are lying in our witness for God, for we have given our solemn testimony that he did raise up Christ—and that is utterly false if it should be true that the dead do not, in fact, rise again! For if the dead do not rise neither did Christ rise, and if Christ did not rise your faith is futile and your sins have never been forgiven. Moreover those who have died believing in Christ are utterly dead and gone. Truly, if our hope in Christ were limited to this life only we should, of all mankind be the most to be pitied!

Esther 4
Good News Translation
Mordecai Asks for Esther's Help
4 When Mordecai learned of all that had been done, he tore his clothes in anguish. Then he dressed in sackcloth, covered his head with ashes, and walked through the city, wailing loudly and bitterly, 2 until he came to the entrance of the palace. He did not go in because no one wearing sackcloth was allowed inside. 3 Throughout all the provinces, wherever the king's proclamation was made known, there was loud mourning among the Jews. They fasted, wept, wailed, and most of them put on sackcloth and lay in ashes.

4 When Esther's servant women and eunuchs told her what Mordecai was doing, she was deeply disturbed. She sent Mordecai some clothes to put on instead of the sackcloth, but he would not accept them. 5 Then she called Hathach, one of the palace eunuchs appointed as her servant by the king, and told him to go to Mordecai and find out what was happening and why. 6 Hathach went to Mordecai in the city square at the entrance of the palace. 7 Mordecai told him everything that had happened to him and just how much money Haman had promised to put into the royal treasury if all the Jews were killed. 8 He gave Hathach a copy of the proclamation that had been issued in Susa, ordering the destruction of the Jews. Mordecai asked him to take it to Esther, explain the situation to her, and have her go and plead with the king and beg him to have mercy on her people. 9 Hathach did this, 10 and Esther gave him this message to take back to Mordecai: 11 “If anyone, man or woman, goes to the inner courtyard and sees the king without being summoned, that person must die. That is the law; everyone, from the king's advisers to the people in the provinces, knows that. There is only one way to get around this law: if the king holds out his gold scepter to someone, then that person's life is spared. But it has been a month since the king sent for me.”

12 When Mordecai received Esther's message, 13 he sent her this warning: “Don't imagine that you are safer than any other Jew just because you are in the royal palace. 14 If you keep quiet at a time like this, help will come from heaven to the Jews, and they will be saved, but you will die and your father's family will come to an end. Yet who knows—maybe it was for a time like this that you were made queen!”

15 Esther sent Mordecai this reply: 16 “Go and get all the Jews in Susa together; hold a fast and pray for me. Don't eat or drink anything for three days and nights. My servant women and I will be doing the same. After that, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. If I must die for doing it, I will die.”

17 Mordecai then left and did everything that Esther had told him to do.

In context, this text has nothing to do with Mary, nor with Jesus.

I don't think the Bible gives a specific account of what happens after death. Many people aren't content with that, so we have lots of speculation, the most lurid typically coming from the Rev.

The story of Lazarus and the Rich Man implies an intermediate state. 1 Cor 15, while not explicit, suggests that people are asleep until resurrected. Lazarus would be an odd precedent for invoking the dead, since (1) no one prayed to him, (2) his attempts to intercede for those alive were rejected, with the explanation that what people know from Scripture ("Moses and the prophets") should be sufficient.

It's not clear whether we should take Lazarus as a serious account of the afterlife. It's pretty clearly told primarily as a dig aimed at the non-believing Jews: if they won't believe Scripture, no additional revelation will do it, not even Jesus coming back from the dead.

In my post, I direct said that it was not the same context, nevertheless it speaks in regard to a principle that is just as true of Mary.

Mary only giving birth to and only mothering the humanity of Jesus is a condemned heresy! She is the mother of His entire person, He is God and she is His mother!

Where exactly is that in the Bible.

Luke 1:34-35
34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” 35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

Matthew 1:18-25
18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about : His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. 19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). 24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

Revelation 12

12 And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. 2 She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth.

Galatians 4:4-6
English Standard Version
4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”

Clearly his Spirit part came from the Holy Spirit. The human chromosomes could have been created by the Holy Spirit too. Unless, one wants to say God had sex with Mary.

I do not see the principle at all. Please, spell it out. Because creating teachings by taking verses out of context is bad teaching.

As long as one stick to the traditional understanding of "death", he/she would not expect an explicit teaching about the departed souls. Remember, it was the Reformists redefining "death" that led to the confusion. As I stated in post #108, burden of proof is on Reformists.

//(1) no one prayed to him,//

Proof please.

//(2) his attempts to intercede for those alive were rejected//

The matter of discussion is whether the departed souls are concerned about the spiritual life of others or not. No one claims that the intercession of the departed always accepted by God.

Isaiah 14 is very clear,

A Song About the King of Babylon

4 At that time you will begin to sing this song about the king of Babylon:

The king was cruel when he ruled us,
but now his rule is finished.
5 The Lord breaks the scepter of evil rulers;
he takes away their power.
6 In anger, the king of Babylon beat the people.
He never stopped beating them.
He was an evil ruler who ruled in anger.
He never stopped hurting people.
7 But now, the whole country rests and is quiet.
Now the people begin to celebrate.
8 You were an evil king,
and now you are finished.
Even the pine trees are happy.
The cedar trees of Lebanon rejoice.
They say, “The king chopped us down,
but now the king has fallen,
and he will never stand again.”
9 The place of death is excited
that you are coming.
Sheol is waking the spirits
of all the leaders of the earth for you.
Sheol is making the kings stand up
from their thrones to meet you.
10 They will make fun of you, saying,
“Now you are as dead as we are.
Now you are just like us.”
11 Your pride has been sent down to Sheol.

The music from your harps announces the coming of your proud spirit.
Maggots will be the bed you lie on,
and other worms will cover your body like a blanket.

We know know that death is defined as separation of body and soul or spirit in James 2:26

Paul does tell us that believers will be with the Lord after death.

angels visit heaven daily, there is nothing I know of that restricts them from making side trips to speak to loved ones in heaven. Also, God is outside of time as I understand it thus a prayer after someone dies can be answered by God when that person is still alive.

We know that those under the throne in heaven asked God for revenge on those that killed them.

I was not aware that the reformists taught soul sleep. Which one's did? Where in their writings?
