Is there really going to be an end time revival?

Yep, I know that passage well (being a former AG pastor) and have taught it many times … the former and latter rain and all. It’s a good shoutin’ text in a Pentecostal church. Only Peter said, when he quoted that verse on the day of Penetcost, “THIS is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel.” He did not say “This is some o’ dat” or “This is partially that” or “This is the former rain of that.” He said that what was happening on that day was THAT!!

So, IMO, Joel’s prophecy has been fulfilled or Peter only got it half right.

I am also of that opinion. When I was in all the "move of God" of recent years in the 90's, this was the number one theme for all the evangelists and I read the Bible for myself and done all the cross-referencing and found that I was of that opinion as well, but I thought I was the only one until this posting. It is hard for me to shake the idea away and get real and honest about what I know GOD spoke to me in secret and provoked me to study out myself. It is hard to admit that all those services may have taught something that gave me false hope. I am not puttin' my hope in an idea of end time revival, outpouring, or whatever you call it. It feels so bad to admit that I was looking forward to it and to the refreshing. Guess it will have to be done without all the fanfare of the public arena and in my home.

I do know that God was spoke to me also about the endtime harvest about the laborers being few for the harvest. Having said that, I don't know whether that will come from an endtime revival or if we are in progress but I know I have a lot of questions about the "Harvest being plenty but the laborers are few." Perhaps another topic another thread and meant for the particular town Jesus was in?

Just sorting through the thoughts that flick through my head.
Matthew 9

35Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

I am of the opinion that the church (universal) is in better shape than it ever has been, doing more of the works of Christ, expanding the borders of the Kingdom of God further than ever before and getting closer to the spirit of the New Testament than ever. An objective reading of church history – just American church history - without the mythical embellishments fundamentalists have added through the decades and you will thank God you are a Christian in 2005.

Maybe we are in the “revival” already and just do not have the eyes to see it.
