Is there proof that Jesus's disciples were real people? Is there strong proof that everything mentioned in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John is true? I have been told by people at my church that choosing to believe the Bible is important, but I feel uncomfortable with that, and i wish there were good resources out there that could make me confident that the Bible is true, if you know what i mean. I have read a few books in the past (Case for Christ, More Than a Carpenter, Why We Believe), and they were interesting, but they didn't really help me with my current questions. I have read in another book that Jesus was said by people in the past to have been a real person, but i guess I want more than that.

Maybe you can state your current questions so we can see if we can't get some answers for you? "_

:)

There are extra-biblical sources that speak of the Apostles of Jesus from their 'students'.
These are found in the Church Fathers writings.

The site of Peters house has been believed to have been found, you can read about that here.

I have many questions, but i guess they all are part of the bigger question: is there a way to prove that what was written in the New Testament was true? For example, can we prove that the Resurrection happened? I know the Bible says that Jesus appeared to hundreds of people, and Paul states that some of those people were still alive. Can we prove that? I asked if there was a way to prove that Jesus's disciples were real people. Some of the books i read make arguments, but they do while assuming that the stuff written in the New Testament were already true.

We can't prove any historical event, but that's not to say that there isn't good evidence for them. You might find this video interesting:

Yes you can.

we live in an age of skepticism. So ask yourself, what kind of proof you are expecting. World history, not just christian history, counts reliable proof as written documents. most historians will tell you paul really wrote the epistles, and the early disciples really existed and wrote the gospels.

If you are talking about physical proof, then they have claimed to have found Peters bones.

as far as the resurrection, people always want physical proof of jesus and that happening. there is none. and i feel that is the biggest evidence there is. They never found jesus body, nobody has ever claimed to. which lines up with the biblical account that jesus ascended into heaven..if we had jesus body here, then the ressurection never happened

Another thing, realize that there literally is no new question that hasnt already been answered. I use to struggle with "proof" questions. research for yourself, and you will find it.

It sounds like you were in the same place i was a few years ago. theres alot of good evidence out there that supports the bible. If you have already, check out Frank Turek and J Warner wallace. theyre great speakers and entertaining, all while defending the faith!
