I mean, I perceive there's some negativity towards me... but that's just the bare bones of it, I'm afraid to write more. I'm praying and looking for something better and trusting God to provide.

I’m sorry to hear that. Ask the Lord for a pivot. How can I use my gifts and talents to serve you and earn an income? Sometimes irritation is a blessing in disguise. It forces a shift that wouldn’t happen otherwise.

There are people who do not easily sail through social waters such as abuse victims, cops, combat veterans, emergency room nurses, ex-cons, people with severe health problems, etc.

Those who have seen the harsher side of reality are often unable to find a comfortable home with the superficial. Also such familiarity with reality often makes it difficult to tolerate those more distant at work or in church.

The key will be to search out those few who have escaped the world and can walk in truth. It can also be helpful to help others to draw nearer the light.

don't be afraid to make changes in your job situation

one of my relatives was a teacher & found it stressful
she was getting migraines a lot
she ended leaving a regular teaching job to teach at a preschool

re church
we haven't returned to in-person yet
however, we attend more than one church & alternate between them

I think I may either end up attending multiple or just looking for one with a better fit. I'm thinking it may be better to alternate between several. In terms of work, I am looking and praying for God to open a new door. The teaching schedule makes it so palatable as my evenings and weekends are free to attend church services, which I purely love. But I will see what God will do. I'm trying to get help since I also have a disability and it really affects my work though I've done all that I can to manage it on my own. But I definitely see a need to get help, so I'm working on that.

That is some seriously great insight, thank you for that. It explains a lot for me. I have seen some very harsh sides of light and I often have the end in mind, not just the beginning. I'm very focused and you're right, it is hard to be around the superficial. I've gotten better over the years at navigating social situations and small talk (I'm also an introvert), which has been helpful. I have to keep focused on the cross, that's the reminder that keeps coming to me. That will help those around me to draw nearer to the cross.
