Is there really intelligent life in the universe besides man? Will we ever make contact with them? Are they friends? Are they enemies? Are they more powerful than us? Will they ever have any control over our affairs here on Earth?
The answer to all of those questions is YES! Definitely yes! I have noticed that there is talk in many forums about Angels. I noticed that in three forums alone just yesterday. I have been personally aked about Angels. For some reason the interest in Angels seems to be at a high right now, so in spite of the series we are trying to do on the Church and on Prayer in the Prayer forum, maybe we should spend some quiet time in reflection on these magnificent beings God created and we know as Angels.
That they exist can be of no doubt to any one even vaguely familiar with God's Word. For according to at least one source Angels are mentioned a total of 273 times in 34 different books of the Bible.
They are created beings, and like man, did not evolve from a pool of slime.
They are spirit beings and we are told and even have it confirmed by Christ in Luke 24:39, that spirit beings do not have flesh and bone.
Nevertheless there are other scriptures that do confirm they have some sort of glorified body that makes it possible for them to appear in a bodily form.
They are, to humans, generally invisible, or at least unknown, but they do clearly manifest themselves from time to time. This is born out by much testimony, such as the ones testified to thus far by GraftMeIn and Carmen. I myself have had some dealings with Angels, as has most military men I know. In Hebrews 13:2 we are thus cautioned: "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
They are intelligent, emotional beings, with a will, just as we have, and are able to make choices, as indicated by no less than the fall of one third of them.
Angels are smarter than us, faster than us, and far more powerful than us.
And, like us, they are made in the image of God. I have found two verses in Hebrews and one in Psalms that indicate mad was made a little LOWER than the Angels, thereby indicating there superiority, at least in some ways.

However this changed after lucifer led his revolt and the Angels who did not fall were declared "not able to sin". That is when they became what is referred to in the Bible as the "holy and ELECT Angels. Sound familiar? Just as we are "elected" so were the faithful Angels.
There are many classes and ranks of Angels with specific jobs, just as there are with the fallen Angels, which we generaly refer to as demons or devils.
How many Angels are there? Naturally no one knows for sure but there are many theories among the noted Scholars. But generally it is thought that as they are associated with the starts, there may be as many as there are stars, which would be in the unknown trillions and trillions.
Father, help us to understand about Angels and thier ministry regarding men, and in particular to Christians.
