  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Eastcoast, Thankyou. I pray all day long. And this morning at Mass two lad ies came to me (i have just started at a new Church) and when they asked if I wasnokay I blurted some of it out, and they told me to ring either of them immediate lynif there was any violence. Never had that in my lgife before.

I have been married 46 years and am 68 so it is NOT easy

Would you believe that before my cancer I was very active and independent. Tutored, lectured, worke: in all sorts of ways andmplaces, climbed mountains erc. It is because of my illness that this has been able to happen

Wow. That sounds a good move, angelica. I should think a conscientious, compassionate priest and his contacts could do a lot to help sort out your problems and reassure you. I didn't realise you are a Brit. I'll PM you my phone no in Edinburgh, in case you'd like to gibber for a while.
