Dear SomeonePleaseHelpMe. God is Love, and if you truly want to be forgiven,
ask God sincerely and show God that you mean it. In Matthew 7: 7-10: we are told: " Ask and ye shall receive," ask God to forgive you and also follow the two Commandments, which Jesus tells us in Matthew 22: 35-40:
" The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all our hearts, with all our souls, and with all our minds. The second is like it: love our neighbour as we love ourselves." Jesus also told us: " On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." Love is very important to God, and God wants loving men and women. Treat all you know and all you meet, friends and not friends, treat them as you would love to be treated. Keep asking God for Love and Joy, then thank God and share all Love and Joy all around you.
God will see your sincere efforts, and God will Bless you.
You might stumble or forget at times, but then ask God to forgive you, and carry on loving and caring. Love is a Christian`s great weapon, with Love we can overcome all ill feelings and wrong behaviour. Love might take a bit longer to work, but Love will always be victorious. The Bible told us: " Repent," and
to " Be Born Again," drop all your selfishness and become LOVING and Caring.
Keep praying to God often, and tell God your innermost thoughts.
God Loves us, and Jesus our Saviour will help and guide us all the way:
JESUS IS THE WAY. I say this with love, SomeonePleaseHelpMe.
Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

This is a perennial question here. But it's one that Jesus doesn't talk about, as far as I can recall. For him, if you ask God to forgive you, that's it. When he talks about forgiving someone seven times a day for the same offense, he's talking about people forgiving each other, but he also says we should do that because God does it for us. Jesus doesn't say or imply that there are other qualifications such as believing in the right way or asking in some specific way.

That's not to say that other things don't matter. But for Jesus (and Paul) forgiveness is free. Once we're forgiven he expects us to show it in how we live, of course. But notice that Jesus' parables of judgement don't show people being condemned because of some sin that they forgot to ask forgiveness for or didn't ask properly. They are condemned because they didn't show any signs of caring about people around them. Not that they did something wrong once, or missed a chance to help someone, but they simply didn't care, or worse, abused others or set stumbling blocks in front of them.

You don't ask for forgiveness, you ARE forgiven.
It doesn't work for some, because they don't take it as FACT and FAITH.

Thank the LORD for complete forgiveness that HE won for us, at the cross.
Live in freedom, Live in Grace.

“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6)

Christ's death on the cross has ensured forgiveness and eternal reconciliation of believers to God. If you believe upon Him and repent of your sins, they will be forgiven for He has paid for all sins by His death on the cross.

Yes. By trusting in what Christ alone has done on the cross for taking the punishment of your sins, by choosing to turn from any lifestyles of sin, and having zealous action to serve God and love Others . That is the evidence that you've been Born Again in Christ and your sins are forgiven now/today.

You then trust in what Gods Word says that you have the assurance of forgiveness of all sins..and that your name is , now, written down in heaven awaiting your arrival. See 1 John 5:13 which says you can KNOW...right now...that youre saved and going to heaven. God wants you know this so you don't have to live your earthly life wondering about it. You are either saved right now , or you are not. And its based on whether you have done what salvation calls you to do , as in Romans 10: 8-14 , and have done it very genuinely which will result in a changed life .
