Is there a God?

I know almost nothing about Christianity growing up. But I do remember a question that almost everyone use to ask was: Do you believe there is a God?

Usually people believe there is a God, or they are not sure, or sometimes people will say there is no God.

But really, what it comes down to, is that people pray a lot and they do not get an answer to their prayer. So if there is a God or not, it does not seem to make any difference, because He does not seem to be interested to be a part of their life.

Did you ever hear of John 3:16? If you keep reading, it gets interesting. Jesus said that people do not come to God, because they do not want to give up being evil and wicked. They do not want to walk in the light and in truth.

John 3:19-21 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20] For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. [21] But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."

The real question then is, do you want to live right before God? If not then you may find that you do not believe there is a God.

Or maybe you are trying to hide from Him.

Philip. 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

If you want to look for God, this verse will give you an idea of where you will find Him.

So, if something is good, that's thanks to God? And you know this true because it's in a divinely inspired holy book?

Looks like the bad things haven't been claimed yet. If something is bad, that's thanks to Wakalixes. Oh, I guess I'll have to tack on a verse number... Ashibaka 4:2...

There we go. My book is holy, it was written just five seconds ago so it's obviously up-to-date. I was divinely inspired when I wrote it. You'd better start fleeing from Wakalixes!

C'mon, John, you can do better than that. This belongs in Apologetics anyways.

Yep, when I was around your age, I use to say that I did not believe there was a God. In a way I was wanting to know Him. Or it not know Him personally, I was wanting to know about Him. Just like we want to know about the stars and the moon and the creation that God formed for us to be a part of.

What really made a difference though, was when I ran into problems, and I needed solutions for those problems. I read all the books, talked to a lot of different people. No one had any answers to my questions, or solutions to my problems.

Then one day I ran into some Christians, and they told me about a God who had answers and solutions for me. They did not have the answers and solutions, but they told me about the God who is able to answer any question we will ever have and solve every problem we will ever have.

I gave Christianity a try and it has been working for me for 20 years. I still have problems, just like everyone I know has problems. But with God's help, I overcome those problems.

When I look at people who do not know God, I see them stuck in troubles and problems that they just do not seem to be able to overcome.

Well people say the same all kinds of things about creation and they never bring up any evidence and yet there is PROOF for the big bang. :)

There must be a God. How can you explain the world we live on? Think about it. Our world is at a perfect angle with the sun, so that we get the right amount of heat. If we were any closer or farther away from the sun, then we'd either go into an ice age, or we'd burn up. Also, how can you explain how we breathe? The odds that we just randomly found a planet with the right amount of oxygen are like nil. I f there were any more carbon dioxide in the air we'd die. Also we have a nifty little oxygen converter that changes carbon dioxide to oxygen: Trees! If we didnt have trees there would be to much carbon dioxide in the air, not to mention no leafy greens to nourish your body. Speaking of your body, It is absolutely amazing that we have lungs to take in air so we can breathe, an immune system so that we can heal ourself, and battle colds. If we didnt have an immune system, wed die of the common cold. Yes, Medicine helps, but thats just it... it only helps! Its our immune system that does all the work. Also we have the 5 senses: taste, hearing, touch, sight, and smell! That is incredibly important. Also, we have feet. We couldnt move around without feet. We would be really pathetic without feet. These are just a few reasons. You see the odds of all this happening by coincidence is like 1 in 100000000000000000 this is why I believe in God.

There doesn't have to be a god science has already answered the questions why the sun and earth are the way they are. How do you know have you been on any other planets, we know now that there is planets around almost all stars that are the age of ours and they could have oxygen and air that we could use.

How do you know the odds evolution can happen on any planet and there is EVIDENCE of it. And what will chrstians do one day when we find a planet like ours that has life HUH? We are now finding planets the size of earth and smaller so one day we WILL find an planet just like earth or close to it.

Tree's and grass hasn't always been here it evolved when a long time ago.

There is 1 out of 1000000000000000000000 chances that there is a god, thats why I don't believe in a god.

BTW there is almost proof that the big bang happened, and evidence of evolution, there is no evidence of creation or god.

This seems to be a mixture of the Strong Anthropic Principle and misunderstanding about what science says about the universe.

First, none of the examples you gave abotu breathing, photosynthesis, etc. have anything to do with coincidence.  Physics, chemistry, and evolution are not about "chance" or "coincidence".  The selection in natural selection is deterministic, so that how we breathe and photsynthesis are not the result of a chance process.

Second, the "correct" distance from the sun, etc, is simply that there are 100 billion stars in this galaxy and about 100 billion galaxies. Now, in all that number it is a certainty that at least one planet would match up with earth.

I understand your need to "prove" that God exists, but this won't do it.

How does Big Bang disprove creation?

If you say that God created the universe by the Big Bang, stars, galaxies, and planets by gravity, life by chemistry, and the diversity of life by evolution, then you have all the evidence and proof anyone could ever want, don't you?

CO2 levels have been dramatically increasing over the last 200 years. The Oxygen is regulated through the respiration of plants and animals. As plants take in more CO2, there is more food, so more animals. As there is less CO2, plants start dying and CO2 from the decaying matter is released into the air. It's regulated, much like animal populations through predators.

Right. That's why they flourished.

Not really. The contracting of muscles brings in air to our lungs, thanks to the pressure created. Then, through the magic of diffusion across concentration gradients in your cells to the air in your lungs, airs moves into the cells of your lungs, where the oxygen combines with the hemoglobin molecules, which is done through the use of iron molecules, they essential rust due to oxidation.

We don't have sonar.

Also, we have feet.

People born without feet died.

Too bad life doesn't require oxygen.

Evolution is change over time. Which is kind of hard to disprove with entropy and enthalpy.

The Big Bang is a theory, not a law.

there is no evidence of creation or god.

There's no scientific proof. Because God can't be weighed, measured or compared.

Yes I know that.

I know this also.

Yeah it's a theory but there is proof of it.

Yes I know there is no scientific evidence and there won't be.

He could have but in the bible it says nothing about a big bang or anything like it and creationist believe it was really happened in 7 days.
