What do you think about the happenings of the days around us? The issues in the middle east, the rapid growth of technology, the rapid decay of the things of God, do you think it's soon time for the end?

Or maybe just the end of the US?

I got a big dose of paranoia listening to a lot of talk radio (both left and right) and among some there is a sense of impending doom with issues in middle east.

Iranian president -reported by al Jazeera-says that Israel should be eradicated, nothing new I guess, but gives me some chills...this guy is #1 on my "creepy world leader" list, passing the North Korean leader.

Just another blip of history, or does anyone else sense something big on the horizon?

The time is already here! It's 6:34! Oh wait, you mean The Time...:D

Of course the time is here. Even secular scholars agree there ain't much time left for this old world of ours. Have you read any of Stephen Hawkings writings lately? He doesn't think there will be a 2100 for this world. Or the recent reports that the ocean's fish supply will run out by 2048 because of over-fishing? Or the warning on NPR today that California's coastal farms are already being affected by the rise of the ocean's level? I could go on and on.

Time's a-running out.

I just wonder how much is real and how much is just what people have "felt" through history. All sorts of tin pots have been deemed "antichrists" and "end of the world" sorta predictions.

Just seems that when compared to the past we are in a time (guess we have been for 60 years) where we can easily destroy the world, and there are those with nothing to lose (terrorists) working at it.

The Cold War had these elements, but there was at least a strong sense of self-preservation with the "MAD" mentality...

Curious times to be in...easy to find despair in all this...

The only thing certain in reports of things "new" is that they are not really new.

"It would be easy to show that at our present rate of progress the kingdoms of this world never could become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ. Indeed, many in the Church are giving up the idea of it except on the occasion of the advent of Christ, which, as it chimes in with our own idleness, is likely to be a popular doctrine. I myself believe that King Jesus will reign, and the idols be utterly abolished; but I expect the same power which turned the world upside down once will still continue to do it. The Holy Ghost would never suffer the imputation to rest upon His holy name that He was not able to convert the world."

Yes I do think that the signs given by Jesus in Matthew 24 foretelling his first resurrection following great tribulation are now seen by the whole world but not understood by many.

Or maybe just the end of the US?

When the credit system of the US goes down all the world governments go with it.

The Seven headed BEAST of Revelation is a merchant banking system extending from ancient Egypt to the present, united first by King Solomon to Pharaoh's daughter and then through intermarriage between Jewish Israelites, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans, ending with the Rothschild private control of all central banks except 4 small ones and Iran. The beasts main racket is WAR.

I got a big dose of paranoia listening to a lot of talk radio (both left and right) and among some there is a sense of impending doom with issues in middle east.

For good reason and they are all in the prophesies of the bible concerning unfaithful ISRAEL The harlot Jerusalem and her daughters.

Iranian president -reported by al Jazeera-says that Israel should be eradicated, nothing new I guess, but gives me some chills...this guy is #1 on my "creepy world leader" list, passing the North Korean leader.

Its the same as when God raised up Syria against Israel

Yes our Father has been very patient.
But we have all been warned

I too agree that birth pangs are being felt. A part of me asks that the deliverance come quickly and another part of asks for just one more day so that we may be able to lead just one more to Christ.
Blessings,
Rick

Amen, keep sharing the gospel message with word and deed.

There have been many anti Christs, anyone that is against the gospel of Jesus is Antichrist.

Just seems that when compared to the past we are in a time (guess we have been for 60 years) where we can easily destroy the world, and there are those with nothing to lose (terrorists) working at it.

All weapons of mass destruction have been created by the US military and used.

The Cold War had these elements, but there was at least a strong sense of self-preservation with the "MAD" mentality...

And hope, if you are doing the work of Jesus Christ when he returns in the clouds.

-Charles Haddon Spurgeon

As much as I respect Spurgeon, he like many have forgotten what the Holy Ghost is and why Jesus gave it to us.

The Holy Ghost is the spirit of truth given to remind us of everything Jesus said and did. Because it is that Spirit, it is the comforter that assures us Jesus is the way the truth and the light. With that knowledge we can bless and love our enemies as the Swiss brethren did while being roasted over slow fires.

Centralized global banking, military and law enforcement will soon be using an electronic smart chip to mark everyone that has a bank account, drivers licence, mail address, or engages in any commercial transaction.

Many Christians will take it because they will not see it as an act of worshiping the BEAST, but in fact they will be afraid that if they don't they and their families will die.

The good old days are over for most already, but if you have a good job and economic cushion you don't feel it YET.

With love in Christ

Revelations was written to give hope to the persecuted Christians about the final victory of our Lord; not imho (nothing to do with being catholic, as many catholics would disagree with me) to instill fear to us Christians.

The end is not yet. As GorrionGris says Revelation was written at a time of persecution, not as timeplan of world history to be unfolded, but of one of hope.
The world will survive for 1000s of years yet. If we lived the Christian hope now, instead of having a hope that Jesus will come soon, we might be putting out the real message of Jesus. "I come that they might have life, and have it abundantly".
