Coulette, you are of course correct, and indeed actually in the mainstream of Christian thought with what you posted.

Curt and others will try to convince you that you are a heretic in danger of hellfire, but ignore them. Much of what Curt posts, in particular, is out and out dishonesty. If someone has to lie to make a point, rest assured their point is invalid.

When somebody tries to convince me that the genesis is a scientific fact, I always comes with the same riddle "How to fit 28 elephants, on a surface equal to two basketball fields set back to back, with all the food for almost one year. And using only a four square feet window to evacuate a daily average of 1000 pounds of s**t and 250 gallons of p**s"
This is based on strict genesis verses.
Except for hell fire promisses, nobody has come with some answer

I very much believe that the earth rotates around the sun. This theory may not be true, but there is a lot of evidence to prove it correct. What are the reasons for believing that it doesn't rotate around the sun?

There are no scientific reasons to disagree with this. In fact it was scientific observation that taught us the earth orbits the sun, rather than the reverse.

Nor is there any good theological reason to disagree.

But if a person asserts they do not accept certain scientific ideas (such as evolution) because they conflict with a literal interpretation of the bible, then to be consistent, they ought not to believe the earth orbits the sun, for that scientific idea conflicts with several biblical statements to the effect that the earth is literally fixed in one place and does not move. e.g. Psalm 104:5
