From before the beginning God (including Jesus and the Holy Spirit) were the author and finishers of our faith. If you look at scripture, before Abraham, the geneology was named after the father, after Abraham it was "the son". That was the first two thousand years, then God, the son brought them out of Egypt, check out "I am" and and the end of two thousand years gave His life for you and I. Now the Holy Spirit has been commissioned to finish the work and bring us all together. If we do not see the Word of God through the light of the Holy Spirit, you are right, it is just a book with spiritual insights. If you see the Word of God through the light of the Holy Spirit, it is alive and will bring you to a new life and promises of eternity.

The Bible is not the word of God.

Jesus Christ is the Word of God. (Jn 1)

Are they equal? Of course not!

The Bible points to Jesus.

He gives life, not the Scriptures.

He even said so Himself, did he not?
John 5
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Cray,

I'm not sure if I understand what you are saying.
But in response I would concur with scripture saying "The bible is not a matter of interpretation." Which means that we must go beyond interpretation into a level of actual comprehension of what is being said in scriptures. Interpretation occurs only until we have accurate understanding. (Okay, so its hard to fully get to the level of understanding)
In the case of Jesus as the Word of God, our interpretation of Him surely doesn't affect who He is. And with Jesus as the Word of God we also know that He is the image of God (2Cor 4:4)

I agree, the Bible itself has no power to grant eternal life. All of this comes from God, Logos.

This question kind of addresses that, while there are many who believe that The Bible is all this, and elevate the Bible equal to God Himself.

The Bible, Scriptures, only gives account to Jesus, it is God who grants His Graces (not the Bible).

God Bless
