Why is it that sometimes people claiming to be Christians or believers or a"spiritual man of God" or "spiritual woman of God" when presented with particular Scriptures say things like: "That scripture is not right!"? How can they say they believe in Jesus and trample one of his holy and perfect teachings of the Word? Thanks. Jesus is Lord.

'That aint right' is a legitimate initial response though, to the parts of scripture we struggle with.

My faith wouldnt be so strong if I hadnt wrestled with what God had to say in scripture and come to terms with it in my own life.

I still do it. You see lots of people doing it on this forum.

"And this is the condemnation, that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil.

"For every one that does evil hates the Light, neither comes to the Light, lest his deeds should be reproved [exposed and made known]."

We hate the Light; we hate Jesus.

It isn't neccesarily "that ain't right" but "that interpretation of that ain't right". Scriptures can be twisted, and we sometimes look at things and say, that isn't right. People used to use scriptures to justify slavery, to condemn interracial marriages, all sorts of things, most of us today would say "that ain't right" and recognize that those verses were misinterpreted. We see it more often today when people disagree about the interpretations of verses.

Amen. We may not all come to the same interpretations at the same time. We are all in different lengths in our spiritual walk and each know some but none know all. We are here to learn and love. God knows all and Jesus is the answer. I would never claim to be the one with the correct interpretation but through prayer and listening and studying we will all become closer.

Love and God Bless,

Thanks. The Scriptures that these people disbelieve were 1Jn2:4 and 1Jn3:10. Grace and peace to you from God, the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1John 2:4 The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1John3:10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God, nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

I don't understand what they would disbelieve?

1John 2:24 See that what you have heard from the begining remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us--even eternal life.

God is so good. Love and God Bless you

101703 Jesus is Lord. Amen.
Thanks. That was most helpful. Donna Summer, when they say things like "That Scriputer is not right!" it is usually in a way that if they would fight and curse until those Scriptures be removed from the Scriptures; it is so discouraging.
And there is no interpretation accompanying the Word; at first they are praising the Lord Jesus, and then they are mocking, scorning and bringing these particular Scriptures into ridicule and disgrace.
I was amazed at how one could say things like "I know him" and "I love him" and "He is so good" and then immediately after that discredit the very Scriptures that teach us about Jesus Christ, the holy Son of God.
I humbly and earnestly ask for your help with prayer. Thanks again.

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters--yes, even his own life--he cannot be my disciple. -Luke 14:26

These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you. - Titus 2:15 /NIV
