  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey everyone. This question is more directed to the Christian women, but men are more than welcome to answer as well. I am wondering if you guys could tell me signs women give off to a guy when they are interested in him. There is a girl that i am interested in dating, and I think she has given me signs to show she might be interested as well, but I am not completely sure. Thanks and God bless.

If she makes lots of excuses to talk to you and goes out of her way to come up to you, that's a good sign. Also if she takes any excuse to touch you - put her hand on your hand, your arm, shoulder, etc... you know what I mean?

I hope things work out for you! :)

Well, we have never met. We have talked online since May, and we just recently started talking on the phone. We spent 2 hours on the phone the other night, 3 hours last night, and she called after I woke up today because my grandpa is in the hospital, and she wanted to know how he was doing. We didn't find out about each other through a dating service or anything like that, but we met through Xanga... we go to the same school, and have agreed to meet when we are both down at school in about three weeks.

If she ruled out a romantic possibility, should wouldn't spend that much time in phone conversation. When you see her in person, you will be able to tell if she likes you or not.

To me, it sounds as if she is definitely interested. Things could be tricky when you first meet, but I think that the fact that you already know each other will make things a lot easier.

I hope your grandpa is doing ok.

Hmm...it sounds like she likes you ;)

When I like a guy I usually:
-talk to him whenever I can (a.k.a. online, whenever he's with me, phone, etc.)
-am very nice to him and stand up for him when someone insults him
-and in person usually touch him on the arm, etc when we are talking

best wishes :) and I also hope your grandpa gets better soon.

I'm in the same situation... I know this guy... friend of a friend... and he's super sweet and I love talking to him... but I feel like I'm pestering him. If she laughs a lot on the phone... and jokes around giving you a hard time about everything... and if she likes to make you laugh thats a good sign. The fact that she calls you so much is a good thing... it means she feels like she can trust you. and doesn't feel like she's buggin you.

There is no rule of thumb for female interest. She probably likes you, but not nescesarily in that way, it could be just as a friend. Some girls will give signals that say "date me" but they won't mean a thing. It's just how they socialize.

Precisely why caution, discernment, and lots of observation skills are always needed.

Besides the laughing and touching your arm look for her to cook or bake for you. Also, she may start doing some research on the things you like (sports teams, etc.). My advice would be to approach the situation like any other friendship when you get back to school. Nothing can kill a budding romance faster than too much pressure.

Yeah just be friends because that's more important than anything else.
