  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There is more than a physical element to the Eucharist? Why do you insist it must be physical or spiritual, and can't be both? It is both. I was unable to receive my Lord this past week, but was still in spiritual communion with Him.

You mean your fathers? Paul didn't disagree.

John 6:35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

Right, and Paul tells us that whoever eats the bread and drinks the wine without discerning the Body and Blood of Christ eats it and drinks it unworthily.

If it's NOT the body and blood of Christ, why would anyone eat or drink it unworthily?

RCC says that if we dont eat bread and wine then we have no life in us. Yet Isn't that the same as saying Christ will forsake us if we do not eat bread and wine? Do you not see the fallacy here?

Christ said that! What DID he mean?

I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”a

52
The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?”
53
Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.
54
Whoever eats* my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
55
For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
56
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
57
Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.b
58
This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.”
59
These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

Judge not my brother. You have no idea what you are actually judging. If the Lord does lead me then its Him you are judging, not me.

I'm not judging anything, actually. Anyone who trusts only his own interpretation of anything is his own pope. That's an observation.

The Lord is with us always, we don't need to wait for sunday or any other day. We dont need to wait for the Lord supper either. He is always with us. Its a 24 hour a day relationship. Please don't rob yourself of that truth.

He said he would never leave or forsake us. Never.

Citations, please? John never says we don't need a teacher. Jesus never said so either. In fact, what he said in this regard, he was...TEACHING.
Paul saying not to glory in men means what it means-don't put other people on a pedestal-don't idolize Britney Spears, or Hulk Hogan, or Bishop Fulton Sheen. John means what he means, too-don't self-aggrandize. Jesus was speaking to the apostles that the Holy Spirit would teach them all things. They needed a teacher, no?

There's no doctrine in Scripture. There's events that point out doctrines, but not doctrines themselves.

There's a priesthood your missing-the ministerial priesthood. But you're right, Baptism is our ordination into the priesthood of the faithful. It requires more to be a minister, though.

Sorry im not buying that stuff.

So you "don't buy" that Paul went to Peter and James to discuss what he had received, and then they laid hands on him? He talks about that in the beginning of Galatians, as well as in Acts. Don't buy it, though...

I receive Jesus in the Eucharist every day. I don't wait for Sunday, and we shouldn't wait for Sunday. In fact, we pray seven times a day liturgical prayer (mostly the Psalms), have devotional prayer several times a day, Mass every day. Who waits for Sunday? Those who aren't fervent. But then, many Protestant churches don't even has services on Christmas...amazing who's robbing themselves!
The Lord is there if you go to him. It is a journey, and can be a physical journey, a spiritual journey, or both.

too bad it only lasts 15 minutes though huh?

What a great Christian you are! I just love the way you take things out of context, but that's just like how you read Scripture...

What a great Christian you are! I just love the way you take things out of context, but that's just like how you read Scripture...

And look at you, getting all personal because of simply repeating what you said.

Don't expect to say the absolutely ridiculous things that you say without them being repeated... like how that Christ only lasts 15 minutes in your body.

Because that is ridiculous.. and it's even more ridiculous that men like you believe this nonsense.

Maybe your salvation is like GEICO and 15 minutes could save you..
