  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You people need to look at a book. What in the world is going on? by David Jeremiah. 10 prophetic clues. On the Times best seller list . Prophecy is and will be fulfilled in the drive for the New Roman Empire as the European Union . In one world order
scratch_chin.gif
. As the old saying goes, be careful what you ask for you might get. God uses all thing for his out come in the world and the book of Daniels (in the Bible)speaks of a 10 kings, world order. Right now we have 26 nation per-taking to this one world order. In which is looking for a President. Just read the book? If you dare to know what in the world is going on? To money,Jews,Israel, Nations(like Russia and Iran) , worlds resources and God. God is in control and you better get your house in order;therefore be about our fathers business.... The sign of the times are here. For some will be happy. While other may be afraid. So has anyone looked in the Bible prophecy and the prediction of the Bible that have been ringing true to its telling our future. Especially the nation Israel that was told about 2600 years a go, that the Jews will have their nation back, In which happened in 1948, also that was for told that, that generation will not pass before the Lord comes back! Consider reading the book and may God bless you!!!!

Allhart, most non-Christians don't believe what the bible says about the past, why on earth would we believe what it says of the future. :)

That doesn't mean it isn't true or that all predictions foretold haven't come true. 100% have came true. Logical thinking says you should consider rational thinking ,but that's if you look with out bais thought or do rationalize it away. Jesus said people can see a storm brewing in the distance and prepare for the time coming, but they can't read the signs of the times.

If 100% of the prophecies have come true, then that must mean the world has ended, surely?

Although if this is Hell, then I don't see what all the fuss is about...it's not that bad.

I'm not biased, I spent many years as a Christian, and have found evidence for a belief in it to be not rational, but delusional.

Please re-read my first post to see what I think of what Jesus says. :)

I look forward to the return of Jesus.

I am as well. I remember something in the bible about how one can sometimes tell that it is going to rain or storm (the birds and animals get quiet), but cannot see the approaching of Christ's return because they are not tuned in to it, not looking for it, waiting for it.

I sense something big is approaching, but I'm not sure what that is exactly - if it is an end, or a new beginning. I think that there is something possibly important about the 2012 theory.

Sometimes what I think it is is that our technology will continue to speed as it has. We can speak to one another via the internet which we could not do as early as 1980. The internet was for the very few, and unconcieved by most. We used to have phones the size of shoes, and now our phones are small, they are our phones, our pictures, our music, and our video games.
And sometimes I wonder if this world, this reality will cease and become something new when man, through technology, literally finds God, or when we have some physical response from outside of this world.

As each day passes, as I get older, I feel like I keep seeing it clearer - something happening midday, in the middle of everyday life, people washing clothes, walking to Starbucks, riding the subway, or needlepointing, and a great light appearing, almost like a change of perception of this world.

I can't tell you whether it is a nuclear explosion, Christ coming down from on high (and which place would he come down to in a round world?), or the lifting of the veil of the illusion of this Earth, and showing the Truth, the Spirit world, the behind the scenes workings of the Earth that is a stage.

And it simply keeps getting stronger.

Can you explain more about what prophecies are being fulfilled in the current times?

Where does it say that the generation will not pass before Christ comes again?

You'll find it in Matthew 24:34. However, it probably doesn't mean what allhart believes it to mean.

I don't think the world is ending anytime soon. All I see is people freaking out about certain new politicians because they're upset they won. EVERY generation thinks the SAME thing. They have for centuries. They always think their generation is the end of the world and they too will provide a billion things to prove it. Has yet to happen. NO one will know Jesus is coming. . . or when. Even if we see things being fulfilled. . . who knows how long after the world would end? Could be 1,000 more years. Just take a breather!

To be honest I hope Christ doesn't come soon since I want to have a full life and not get taken away half way through it lol.

Me too ^_^

With all due respect, haven't millions of people had this feeling throughout history and they have come to nought? It seems to me a lot of these ideas arise from feelings we all have, like impatience that important changes aren't occurring or the inherent confusion in the human condition and the frustration of not having a definitive answer.

I think some people, and I'm not saying you by any means, give weight to the 2012 theories because they seem exotic. It's more "in" to believe in Mayan calendars and astrology than the Rapture or the Second Coming because it's more different. I would argue that had we been born into a culture strongly influenced by Mesopotamian religion where Judeo-Christianity was a dead theology, esoteric New Agers would be trying to rejuvenate the latter in the same spirit of simply rebelling against received tradition and returning to something more "natural" solely because it is more "Ancient".

It seems odd that there are people (again, not you, but some 2012-ers) who can see the arrogance of claiming you'll be lifted up to heaven leaving the heathen behind, but at the same time have a sense that owning a copy of The Celestine Prophecy and/or travelling India for a few months makes them part of an esoteric elite who will become "enlightened", whatever that's supposed to mean, when one era of an ancient calendar ends.

You need to rationalize with sober thinking. Without distorted hyperbole.

When people talk in terms of "100%", it's pretty misleading if that's meant to be hyperbole. "One hundred out of one hundred" is unequivocal.

You beat me to the punch here. There has NEVER been a generation since Jesus was crucified that followers of him weren't convinced the prophecies showed the end times were happening in their lifetime. We've been in a continuing state of prophetic fulfillment of the apocolypse for 2,000 years, yet we are still all here. The ease of interpreting their fulfillment at every point in history over the last two millenia is a testament to their vagueness.

I personally am utterly unconvinced biblical revelation will not happen. But if it does, that's fine too. I have no fear of a reasonable God.

I don't worry about Political positioning. They only prove a point, that they can't save anyone with their compromising Ideas and views. Even if they started out with good intentions in which most do compromise their integrity with rationalizing their political position. Do they serve the people? (I doubt it) For the common good of the people. They lack courage! Courage is needed not only in war ,but in a war on compromise in society. Even if it cost him or her popularity. Read the book before you guy show me how smart you are!

Yeah. People thought that it was 1984, then 1999. I agree that it seems very far fetched. However, I have seen this confirmed in others saying a similar thing. One shamana, for example, said, 'I don't want to be a doomdayer, but people would be well prepared to know how to live off the land." I asked her about my suspicions, but in true shaman fashion, she simply smiled and said that I have to find my own answers, but hinted that I was on the right track.

Pinchbeck also speaks about it in 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl
This awareness led to his second book, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, which examines prophecy through personal and philosophical approaches, and offers the hypothesis that humanity is experiencing an accelerated process of global consciousness transformation, leading to a new realization of time and space during this period. In 2012, he also explains the psi or extra-sensory perception research of Dean Radin, the theories of Graham Hancock, his own encounters with crop circles, a visit to calendar reform advocate José Argüelles, and his direct reception of prophetic material: the voice of the Mesoamerican deity Quetzalcoatl, began speaking to him during a 2004 trip to the Amazon in Brazil. At the time, he was participating in a ceremony of the Santo Daime, a Brazilian religion that uses the psychedelic brew ayahuasca as its sacrament. Through its references to 2012 and the Maya calendar in the context of New Age beliefs, Pinchbeck's book has contributed to Mayanism.

Many people that are partakers of ayahuasca repeat this theme during their experience.

For me, it simply feels different, like seeing the sky turn green, or realizing that all of the animals are quiet.

Could be nothing, could be a simple transition. However, I believe that it is the first time in 26,000 years that all of the planets will line up. One theory is a polar shift, or change in the Earth's axis.

God is known to almost everyone now by this technical age and introduced to all with technology and he asks all to let him in their hearts. Once everyone knows and has decided? The time grows short under his grace! Even for me! I have even seen commercials on T.V. introducing technical info. on the Bible on our cell phone's. If we have a question? We ask and get answer an on ( Bible answer.com)

While I'm not sure where I stand on this issue these days, for those who believe in the eventual return of Jesus Christ here is a sobering thought: this week is one week closer to that event than was last week.
It is like anticipation of the holidays. The seem to be right around the corner and before you know it, they are here; to seasons to years, but he is near. Try Easter , then the 4th, Halloween came then Thanksgiving and now here come Christmas. He is coming:clap: soon:thumbsup: Read the BOOK!!!!
