Is pride a problem?

Do any of you ever have to deal with pride in your work and if so, how do you deal with it?

Wow, a great question! I can only speak for myself and I do have to keep a check on my pride. As a pastor, we are constantly being told how wonderful the message went or how much we are appreciated or that we are being prayed for. That kind of encouragement can certainly go to a persons head. However, I am reminded by one verse that puts my ministry into perspective.

1 Cor. 3:6 says this about ministy. "I planted, Apollos watered but God made them grow."

My ministry is only effective if God is in it. He does not need me to do His work, he uses me as I am willing. Kind of humbling to know that God's work will continue with or with out me.

What a privilage to serve our Savior!

heck yeah I'm full agreement with canadianmade...man it's so hard sometimes when you're before the congregation nad they're consistantly feeding your ego it's hard but God has his ways of putting me in check and it sucks sometimes but hey it's needed

I agree as well, pride is a problem at times. Especially when the members of the congregation tell you that you just preached an excellent sermon. But, hey, my head is big enough, I try not to let it get swelled up with pride as well.
