It's a land with borders and people, so I guess it's a state.

J-E-W-S

1. Not all Jews are Israelies or even Zionists.

2. It takes two to tango, if Iran, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Jordan really supported a peaceful settlement there would be one by now.

3. States and terror organizations for that matter use fear to control people. Most everyone in that region is terrorised and as stupid as people are when thier not terrorised, thier even worse when they are. The trick is replacing the hate and terror with love and trust, Hezbollah and the Israeli government seem determined to insure that remains impossible.

Israel has turned Palestine into a concentration camp.
Of all the people in the world Israel should know better. Israel is a Terrorist State.

Right. The old blame Israel routine, yeah? I don't see any other Arab nation rushing to assist Palestine with their resources. No, the Palestinians elect a group of people who have now started a war against Israel when they were trying to work towards a peaceful solution. Yes, I'm sure Israel is to blame for the Palestinian poverty:idea:

You're confused. Hezbollah and Hamas are two different entities. Hezbollah is based in Lebanon and is currently involved in a war with Israel. Hamas is in Palestine.

Isreal is bombing both right now. My understanding is Hamas killed a couple of Isreali soldiers and captured another as a hostage a couple of days before the Hezbollah mess started.

Headline from today: Israeli Warplanes Bomb Palestinian Foreign Ministry for Second Time
Sunday, July 16, 2006

I think it was probably planned since both plots were so similar. Or Hezbollah just decided to go into Isreal and kill soldiers and take hostages to copy Hamas.

It is just disgusting. I hope Isreal takes care of both Terror groups once and for all. I do ache for the innocent people in these areas. My prayers go out to them. But, we are quite aware that peace will not come to this region until the end times.

As far as the original question, I would say no, Palestine is not an official state. I do not think they have control over their territory or a very organized government. But, at the same time, they are there and cannot be ignored.

I really do not know what should be done. The history is so long and I am no expert. :sigh:

Using this logic you can also claim that Iran is at war with Israel because they support Hezbollah, but this is obviously not the case.

Well, Iran's not involved yet but we've yet to see this thing play completely out. As for Hamas, didn't they come across the Israeli border and kidnap soldiers as well? That's what started all of this isn't it?

It started the operations in the Gaza Strip. Hezbollah's kidnapping caused the operations in Lebanon.
