The same 'test' can be applied to Muhammed.I_are_sceptical said:True. Just remember that in New Testament times, and for two thousand years after, the Jewish people have not seen Jesus as their Messiah. IMO that is a crystal clear warning to Christians to be very careful about who they reject as a new prophet from God.
I agree with Markie on this. As Jesus ascended into glory, the Holy Spirit descended to lead us into all truth. This would includes the gift of prophecy, perhaps not on an individual level, but at least upon certain members of Christ's body.Montalban said:Really? Did Jesus forget to tell us something?

The Christian community has been doubly blessed by both Jesus as God Incarnate, and the Spirit who dwells within asin the days when God's presence never left his Ark of the Covenant.
Not at all. Since Christians know perfectly well that Jesus is True, they can plainly see the Jews - for all the Bible knowledge they had - made a mistake. This should caution Christians not to make the same mistake with Muhammad or other claimants to Lordship.Montalban said:In fact what you've done is you've posited Judaism as a test for truth!
In the Strong's concordance the definition of a prophet is an inspired speaker, in the NASC it's G4396. prophaytays, from a comp. of G4253 and G5346; a prophet (an interpreter or forth-teller of the divine will):-- prophet(59), Prophet(4), prophet's(1), prophets(80). A person who speaks for God is a prophet. Do you accept this definition or do you want to make one up?. Preachers of the word can be considered prophets. Prophecy is usually not just foretelling the future if it was Nostradamus, Mohammed and maybe Joe Smith would be prophets. Oral Roberts, Jack Van Imp and Kenneth Copleland are prophets.Montalban said:It is true that the Holy Spirit is a helper. However, after it came, what new truth was revealed that wasn't revealed then?
just because mohammed was a prophet doesnt mean that he was a prophet of godmli3 said:Hi

No, I will never believe mohammed was a prophet of the Almighty God. God is Love, and mohammed spread fear, and blood.
While I don't agree that Mohammed was a prophet, and I find many of the current trends in modern Islam regressive, it should also be pointed out that Mohammed and the Islamic movement that he founded did much to restore some semblance of order to many portions of the former empire that was crumbling into anarchy long before he arrived on the scene. The rapid spread of the Islamic conquest may demonstrate to Moslems that they had a mandate from God, but for others not so inclined to take this interpretation, what the conquest mainly demonstrates is the essential weakness and absence of any effective authority in the lands that Islam eventually came to dominate.Bevlina said:You're the fastest mover I know on the forums Dukey!!

lets go in little bit of details, what is the reason for you not acknowledge my Prophet as Prophet? go on list your reason if you are truely interested in debate...I would request to keep it short because you can always keep adding later while we debate each point one at a time that way I don't have to read and response on a 3 pages long....solomon said:While I don't agree that Mohammed was a prophet
np, you are most welcome to participate...tulc said:Well you asked solomon, but I'll answer for myself: don't see a need for anyone after Jesus. Was that short enough?
