Problems arise in accordance with our goals. If we dont have the skill or resources to reach a goal, then a problem arises.
The Buddha reportedly said that man has 83 kinds of problem. And thers an 84th - i.e. wanting no more problems.

Problems are always coming in this life, but they aren't from us serving our given purpose that is already there for us with our being here, though problems can sure happen from purposes we find for ourselves. Sometimes we justify things for us that are causing problems.

Sounds like a quote from the Trinity...

If that means it sounds like it is from the trinity of God, it would make some sense, see that I wrote that I am Christian where I show what my faith is. I don't know where I specifically saw it written to quote that. But it sure can be apparent from what we see from what people do in our world. But just about everyone justifies what they are doing. This world is full of problems from what they do, and people generally are having problems in their own lives. But the problems are not coming from God as the Creator providing perfectly as the Designer, for us, with there being purpose for us to be here.

Actuallly thanks fo for insight into justifying what is bad, I often do it! I have included the idea in an essay I am writing. I am woring on it from the angle of unconscious phantasy, that we are influenced by "unconscious drives" to be a hero etc, and our consicous lives are reflections moulded by these forces...

First of all, sorry for the late reply. Life gets busy sometimes.
i've got a question for you then.. What is the purpose of your post to begin with? Did you have a purpose to post here? What were you thinking of receiving back to yourself by posting?
I am genuinely intrigued by the way Christians view the world. The way that I, the nonbeliever can view and experience similar experiences as believers but come to different conclusions. I had the purpose of finding out why and more detail into your views out of pure curiosity.

People are driven by something to be heard, etc... yes? no? If there is a drive within the human soul to go as far as to buy a computer, find a website, fill in the registration, validate your email, etc... and then post, what was driving you to do all that?
I suppose the distinction is that "purpose" is typically stated as having to be bigger than one's self and longer lasting. I don't see a need for it to be bigger than one's self or last beyond one's lifetime.

For me, purpose is whatever I say it is. Thus far, it is happiness and fortunately it also includes improving the world around me.

I can see sense in that. I think thats your rationality, so even if it ends up well or poor, you have tried to act on the the information (i.e. your knowledge and world view) available to you, as you think will serve your interests (even if theyre conceived altruistically at times)..
