Did Jesus or anyone in the New Testament ever claim to take away all suffering from this present world?

Jhn 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Rom 5:3 And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
Rom 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

2Cr 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

2Cr 7:4 Great [is] my boldness of speech toward you, great [is] my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

1Th 3:4 For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

Christianity is the hard, but right way. Christ knew and promised that we would be persecuted. However, we are promised eternal life. It is there that every tear will be wiped and every sorrow stilled. There, all trials will end and tribluations will cease. Until this wonderful time, we must suffer on this earth. But, God gives us grace in our times of need.

To answer the OP header.

No.

The very name of Jesus has power. The prayer of the heart, the Jesus prayer, has been used for more than a thousand years to call on Him through His name for mercy and deliverence. The problem (as hinted in the OP) lies in what people think suffering is and what afflicts us.

Who are you? No of course not to ALL of your questions. First of all, why do you think we are here, life is a test. We are here to come to christ, and when we do we are saved, how can we still live in a sinful world, and not be subject to the things that sin brings, which is all of the things you stated. People die, and just because they die, you are looking at it as if there is nothing after life, to die is not to lose, but to gain, we are just moving on with our lives, as if someone got up and moved to another state.

For the best Biblical study on suffering I have read, check this out:

John Paul II, Salvifici Doloris (The Christian Meaning of Human Suffering) February 11, 1984 [Apostolic Letter]

Which is more important, to be delivered from our sins and granted eternal life or delivered from our suffering?

"And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men." -Matt. 9:1-8

Did you pay close attention to what Jesus did? Which was more important, that the man be forgiven or that he be healed? Which did Jesus do first?

What good is the name Jesus if you're suffering from your sins and Jesus name doesn't mean to save you from sin to have eternal life?

Jesus is defined as Savior and anybody can be a Savior. But Yasha' in the Bible means the Savior causes you to have salvation and be free which nobody else is anointed to do except Christ...

Source: Easton's 1897 Bible Dictionary
Jesus
Jesus, savior

sav·ior n.
A person who rescues another from harm, danger, or loss. Such as a fireman, life guard or doctor.

:thumbsup: 3467 yasha` yaw-shah' a primitive root; properly, to be open, wide or free, i.e. (by implication) to be safe; causatively, to free or succor:--X at all, avenging, defend, deliver(-er), help, preserve, rescue, be safe, bring (having) salvation, save(-iour), get victory.

Isa 60:16 Thou shalt also suck 03243 the milk 02461 of the Gentiles 01471, and shalt suck 03243 the breast 07699 of kings 04428: and thou shalt know 03045 that I the LORD 03068 [am] :thumbsup: thy Saviour 03467 and thy Redeemer 01350 , the mighty One 046 of Jacob 03290.

Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

You confuse me, what religion is it that you are a part of anyway, I have seen you come on here and say things about some yasha, and I don't have any idea what you are talking about, no one does, could you please explain what it is you want to say before you say it, it doesn't make any sense to me, is this like some new religion or something, are you saying we should not trust Jesus and trust some guy named yasha?

I love these people who somehow get it into thier heads that God owes them and everyone in the world a cofortable existance free of trouble, pain and work, and then when they don't get it, they start forsaking his name, and they wonder why everything just isn't going thier way?

I'll just come out and say it, yeah, there are preachers and ministers out there who are plain all our deceivers, they'll slap christ's name on anyhting if they think it'll get another drop in the donation bin, but that' doesn't make Christ any less powerful. If anything else, it only proves his might, if some random dude decides he wants to get rich off it, then whatever, gullible people get exactly what they deserve.

But just because someone uses hrists name for evil deeds doesn't make Christ evil.
It's kind of like owning a gun. A gun is a powerful tool that can be used to protect your family, it can also be a tool of destruction that can beused to take lives. Is the gun evil? or is the person who's weilding it for bad reasons evil?

I have a feeling though that no amount of endless preaching will change this person's mind, as he seems pretty set in beleiving what he wants to beleive, and wasn'tso much interested in an actual answer to his question as he is jsut harassing us, i suppose he thought he was gonna stump us with his ever so intelligent critique on our faith... well welcome to 2000 years ago when those questions were first uttered by the first heretics.
They got the same answers then that you're getting now, and i'm willing to wager that it didn't work on them either.

Now I will follow Christ's example, and if my message is not welcomed by those who hear it, i will turn aorund, dust my feet of the town they came form and forget I was ever there.

Because the Lord heard their prayer:

For the Lord disciplines him whom he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives." (Heb. 12:6)
