is it wrong to tell your kids that santa clause exists?

is it really abad thing to tell your kids that santa clause exists? i grew up believing that santa clause came to my house every year on that one special evening bringing toys and all kinds of funs stuff. i evetually found out that santa doesn't do that stuff anymore, but i want to give my kids the same feeling. but my wife doesn't believe in santa clause. she tought that santa clause doesn't exist. she doesn't want our kids to know about santa clause. well she doesn't want them to think that santa clause brings them presents. yes we are going to tell them the true story of christmas but is wrong to the them about santa clause?

I have chosen never to lie to any of my children , OK , you may say it isn't a lie , just a mild , very mild deception...

just remember there may come a time they use the experience as a reason to reject God's existence in the future...

i'm not a mom, so i can't say from that perspective.

but to me, (personally)...it was all in fun.
and the day we found out he wasn't real, we weren't torn over it or anything (again...personally speaking).
and so growing up...we all knew that he didn't exist.
we just played along with our parents.
