Yes it is worth it when sin leads to death and the promotion of sin can cause such harm as a barrier to the Kingdom of God. God doesn't wish any should perish but all come to a knowledge of Him and to repentance. What is futile is crtiticism of people and endless disputing of scripture which condemns same-sex sex without presenting any supporting evidence to same-sex unions. Even then an observer might still seen the baselessness of the same-sex union agenda.

I get so tired of your persistent usage of 'the baselessness of the same-sex union agenda', Phinehas. You're talking about two human beings who care enough for each other that they want to commit themselves to each other. Who CARES what you might think the Bible has to say on this issue, Phinehas ...I mean, really? You're basically reading instructions of perceived morality from an ancient book that was written and compiled by fellow human beings who probably had not one clue as to the issue we're discussing on this sub-forum. What gives you the credentials to have determined beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Bible is the ACTUAL word of God? Because IT tells you this?

Leave people alone, Phinehas, who are not hurting you or anyone else. Lord knows, there are REAL sins that are being committed out there that you surely could better focus on.

I posted this on another thread on this sub forum.

Jesus asks us to follow Him and focus only on Him ,we cannot have our own gods our own idols, our own lifestyle that we worship above anything else.

In scripture it tells us that it is harder for a person who is happy with their life, who is in fact rich with worldly things to want to turn to God and follow Him,turn away from worldly things, from the sins of the world and follow Him.

Matt19:23-24: 23Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

Those who are happy with their lifestyle will continue to live that lifestyle and not want to change and leave everything behind and turn to Jesus Christ.
Some others will compromise with the sins of the world like Judas Iscariot did and still not turn away fully from the things of the world that make them happy.
Christians should support and be concerned if a fellow believer is going astray.

I believe Christians should spread the gospel to those who have never heard of or do not believe in Jesus Christ but if they will not hear we are to wipe the dust off our feet and move on.

I believe that those who support Homosexuality are happy staying the way they are and those of us who disagree with their views should move on to those who are prepared to listen to the Word of God.
I believe that we should not be debating this subject in the Christian section.
I also believe that faith icons should be introduced asap.

Excuse me . . .? Homosexuals are so often condemned/maligned/persecuted by Christians so why on earth should this issue NOT be discussed on a Christian forum? Furthermore, YOU are here debating the issue anyway.

Well, Judging by the negative posts in this thread.
I would have to say , yes it is worth fighting for the rights of the "Gay" community.

Any protestors eaten shellfish today or are wearing their hair long?.
Is anyone covering their heads with scarves?
Anyone eaten Ham today?

Sin is sin nothing is greater or smaller or so I have been told.

okay..
but the position you hold, do you think you have caused anyone to change their pov even just a little...?

I have no idea....
I know that I haven't changed anyone's pov that I have directly interacted with.
But I'm sure there's a lot of people out there who lurk the forums who are still on the fence (still trying to form an opinion), I'm posting hoping to influence those people.

KCKid, the harm being done by the antigay faction is focused on these vague and hyperbolic allegations about LGBTs as "the other" to fool others into joining the agitator in something like George Orwell's "Two Minute Hate". It does not represent God and it does not represent Christianity. People who know LGBTs in their own families and circles of friends, workplace and neighborhood know these lies are false because they know real people with real lives and loves. There will always be people like you and me to stand up for our little lambs. We'll be there like Tom Joad. Keep "em flyin'.

Exactly why those who advocate harm to their LGBT brothers and sisters continue to do so. Thank you.

The "Word of God" says zero about the promotion of hatred toward our LGBT brothers and sisters engaged in by the antigay faction. It is not mandated by "God" whatsoever. <Staff edit>

I believe that we should not be debating this subject in the Christian section.

Then stop it. The rest of us believe otherwise. Deal with it. You cannot produce anything to support that belief other than your own fear of an opposing view.

I also believe that faith icons should be introduced asap.
To give you some kind of shorthand to identify people? Why not just tattoos of series of numbers on the forearms?

The premise somehow "Christians" are to be more appropriately listened to than others is not a Christian principle or even a Paulist one. right-wing Christian churches have been ripped off by "Christian" Ponzi scheme operators as Christianity Today noted. And if a "Christian businessman (what an oxymoron that is) gives you his business card with a "fish" on it it's a warning to hold tight to your wallet.

Wherever there are those seeking to intefere in the day to day lives of others and restrict the rights of others its always worth fighting. Personally I believe Jesus would stand up for all GBLT people as he helps the downtrodden and opressed.

I believe I have positively affected at least 2. I know my words soothed one soul and I know I made at least one person think about things (communication?) in a way they hadn't before, perhaps prompting them to consider committing to gentleness and compassion.

I didn't vote because I'm a fairly new member and I don't post here very much, but I know I have positively affected at least 2. I think that was worth it. Of course, I haven't gotten involved on either side, really, and I have utterly no desire to become involved in vitriol. Thus I doubt I'll be here very much but I believe some good has been accomplished through my words.

The "Word of God" says zero about the promotion of hatred toward our LGBT brothers and sisters engaged in by the antigay faction. It is not mandated by "God" whatsoever. Do not fool yourself in your smugness into believing somehow your side represents "God" and those who oppose the ignorance and harm you advocate do not. You are unable to steal Jesus from us no matter how hard you try.

Then stop it. The rest of us believe otherwise. Deal with it. You cannot produce anything to support that belief other than your own fear of an opposing view.

I have been very congenial in my posts which did not warrant this aggression from you. Bullying and calling people names is obviously not going to get you the response you were looking for.
So if I appear curt and short it is because of your accusations and your finger pointing.

You falsely accusing people of harming other people.
You show me what harm have I OR OTHERS done except quote scripture.

This is a CHRISTIAN debate board. It is called choice: to debate or leave.

You falsely accuse people of hatred.
Did I say I hated anyone?
Those are your words and not mine. Why are you putting words into my mouth that I did not say.

You will not find any words that insinuated hatred towards anyone from my posts.

By insinuating that we would tattoo people's arms for identification, I assume you are comparing us to the Nazi's????Six million Jews died at the hands of Hitler so where do you see gays or lesbians dying from the hands of Christians?????
The only Hitler or Nazi in this scene happens to be one that can kill anyone but is prevalent especially in the gay and lesbian community it is called AIDS.....but I am sure we somehow be accuse us of giving AIDS to them, too... since we are being accused of stealing Jesus from people.

Our bible says what it says. Either some believe or they don't.
I do not know the mind of God except what is written in my bible AND NEITHER DO YOU KNOW THE MIND OF GOD.
I just state what is in his word. It doesn't mean you have to like it.

As long as there are those who come on a Christian forum trying to tell others how to worship God and how to interpret their bibles, you will not be able to silence their voices.
It is called Freedom of Speech. The one law that is giving your the right to have your say and the one law that is giving me my right to have my say. ,

Up until now you have appeared to have been a congenial. person. You appeared at first, to have respected other people's views despite our differences...but I was wrong.

Lol, if we use this thread as an example, I don't see many people changing their stances. Some fight for the freedom and acceptance of same-sex relationships, while others fight to save souls for eternal salvation. Which is a worthier cause? (I'm not taking a side in this thread).

I don't post in here much, but I don't see anything but a topic for people to debate about. What is said in here doesn't change how I live my life and I doubt it has that much effect on another person's either.

I don't think I've changed anybody's mind/heart on the issue. Sadly, there have been days here at CF when my own heart has been even more hardened against those who hold opinions different than mine. It's why I don't come here very often anymore. I pray that my heart will be more open to those who disagree with me.

I love Jesus. Jesus knows I love and serve Him. He's fine with my being gay, and has blessed me with a wonderful man so that we might share our lives together and give glory to Him in the Church and in the World through that loving relationship.

There will be those who disagree - that's fine. Their words and misinterpretation of several Scripture verses have no affect on our relationship with God and with each other - thank God!

I've only stayed here to try and help people see that they needn't be bound by judgmental attitudes. As is plain to tell, there has been little to no change.

But thanks be to God anyway; for His infinite patience, love and mercy will bring us all into the Kingdom.

Well...I've changed my position through what some people here on CF have said. (this was before they gave us this cute little ghetto to talk in so we wouldn't infect the rest of these forums) and those brothers and sisters were driven off shortly before DoH opened. :sigh:
