  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Need verification. Do Rabbies make sure that Passover never falls on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday? If so, is it because of Yeshua and His follower's time tables?

Do they also never have Shavuoth on Tuesday, Thursday, or friday?

And what about Rosh Hashannah never to fall on a Sunday, Wednesday or Friday and must coincide with the third day of Passover?

Same I suppose with Yom Kppur never to fall on Sunday, Tuesday or Friday.

While I am at it, is it also true that Purim can never fall on Sabbath, Monday or Wednesday and must always coincide with the sith day of Passover?

Never considered these things but, I'll have to dig around some old articles I read about the Second Temple period. Back when I was researching the Enoch calendar the rabbi's and the priests were having a calendar war of sorts.

This I wouldn't be surprised about as Rabbi Akiva came along around this time and declared Bar Kokhba to be "The Messiah" as a sly political move in order to drive a wedge between the people and the priests who controlled the Second Temple. A move like that would force the true believers of Christ to either side with a false Messiah for the sake of supporting nationalism, or lose the support of the people by rejecting this false Messianic claim.

The Catholics have evidence showing that Pope Gregory XIII had the calendar changed so that Easter would not be observed at the same time the Jews observed Passover. Anyways this all serves as a fulfillment of Daniel 7:25.

This link should start you off in the right direction dear sister:

Newly Deciphered Dead Sea Scroll Reveals 364-Day Calendar

My apologies for not giving more detailed information as I was sick for a time, and had other work and presentations to catch up on.

Would you happen to remember where you read or learned this information from? I'm trying to go through my memory to recall certain information about this but, I can't recall at the moment as I read through so many papers while doing my research on the Dead Sea Scrolls and understanding the 364-Day Calendar but...I do remember reading somewhere about some rabbis challenging either the priests or fellow believers of Yeshua to travel on a particular holy day which happened to be a Sabbath day...and I think in that same place I also read things connected to what you brought up.

Yes. But not due to Yeshua. It is because of Hillel's calendar changes. They simply wanted to avoid 2 rest days back to back, because it was inconvenient for them. It's obvious disregard for Yahweh, but you can read about it on Chabad.

In ancient times, all Israel sanctified the new moon according to actual observance, by eye-witnesses. ( Genesis 1:14; Psalm 104:19). However in the year 801 C.E., the Rabbanites abandoned this scriptural custom and introduced a calendar reform, which included the following innovations:

a ) PASSOVER ( Pessah ) can never fall on Monday, Wednesday or Friday: and it must coincide with the day of the 9th of Av of that year.
b ) SHAVUOTH can never fall on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday and it must coincide with the second day of Passover...
c ) ROSH HASHANAH ( Feast of Trumpets ) can never fall on a Sunday, Wednesday or Friday, and must coincide with the third day of Passover...
d ) KIPPUR can never fall on Sunday, Tuesday or Friday, and must coincide with the fifth day of Passover.
e ) PURIM can never fall on the Sabbath ( Saturday ), Monday, or Wednesday and must coincide with the sixth day of Passover.
All of these so-called "rules" have no basis in the Scripture, and are inventions of the Rabbis.

What happened in 801 CE that would cause the Rabbis to come up with this change?
