Is it really true?

I have heard for a long time that though Christians are not allowed to speak about God in schools and colleges, Atheists and others who are against the Chrisian belief are free to ridicule it publicly. I know there are a lot of rumors about this, but I just don't see how that would be allowed.

Quite true.

It is because the constitution has been interpreted to mean something other than what it actually says. It says we have "freedom of religion": which would seem to mean we can exercise, practice, and talk about what we believe anytime and anywhere. Yet it has been twisted to mean "freedom from religion": which means if anyone does not like or even want to hear what you believe, then you are silenced.

That would seem to violate freedom of speach also.

OK, A teacher that does not believe in Christianity can stand up in front of the class and ridicule it with Christian students sitting there being forced to listen? If that part is right, it would be discrimination. I would think something could be done about it. Infact, I THOUGHT I heard somewhere that a Christian woman was taking it to coart because an Athiest teacher in her class was slandering her beliefes IN class. As I said though, there are a lot of rumors going around, so I'm not sure if all of this is true.

Christians are quite able to speak about their religion. It is not allowed that the administration call an all school prayer meeting. That would be "state sanctioned religion." A school can not ask a stadium full of people to pray before a football game. The players who wish to CAN pray togetherl. It is not allowed that a teacher ask for prayer from her students. She can however state her beliefs. THAT is NOT illegal.

Unfortunately, many school systems do not see it this way. They are so intimidated by outside forces that they just crumble at the mention of it. Also, the colleges that generate these teachers are so antagonistic against religion that they turn out anti religious robots.
