Christians, as you know there are around 6 billion people on the earth right now, and Christianity believes only Christians go to Heaven, correct? So how can God expect all 6 billion or so people to agree that one religion, Christianity, is the one, true religion?Do you guys think It is possible? I don't think it is. I've heard that it is the Christians job to go out and spread Christianity to all the non christians out there, but theres so many people, I doubt its possible to reach everyone, thats why I kinda think its unfair, and thats kinda why I became agnostic.

Another question...why arent Christians afraid of other religions saying if you dont join our religion, youll go to hell...what makes the Christianitys version of hell more true than other religons?

Gosh I hope this post made sense..I hope I dont sound like an idiot. Oh well, peace out.

There's a lot of angles one could take to answer this question, but I'll just start with a basic truth that many don't realize about evangelism. You are right that men cannot reach all these people. Thankfully they don't have to. It is God who reaches out and evangelizes. There are people that have not been reached with the gospel, but God knows them and is always reaching out to them. He doesn't need words as He can speak directly to the heart. And He will bring more light to those who respond. I've heard many stories of missionaries being meet by peoples from far away lands that basically said they had been waiting for them. Men play a very small role in bringing souls to God. Once you understand that, the heathen question becomes rather insignificant. Hope that helps you. I know it's helped me as I've pondered many questions like this.

How is it possible for every one of the countless billions af garden ants to so consistently follow together only one manner of existence? They invariably do, (to the crowning insult of humankind,) and the reason why such insignificant creatures are so universally united in their purpose is because they do not have the problem with sin that Americans, Greeks, South Africans and Koreans do, to only mention four. The problem of unity upon Earth in any cause is more a problem with personal, universal sin nature than it is a problem with Christian evangelistic efficiency. If we supposedly noble, "higher life forms" were not so predictably factious, world-wide propagation and acceptance of the gospel would be quite feasible, only we cannot seem to rise above the example of even a common ant when it comes to cooperative relationships. It is a great wonder the God is willing to save us at all upon any terms, but I am sure glad that He is.

One is an agnostic or not based on whether they believe in God, not whether or not they believe God is fair.

Christianity doesn't teach that only Christians go to Heaven. It teaches that only those who have repented and put their faith in Christ go to Heaven. Not all Christians have done that, and some people who are not Christians have done it.

Because we have God's word. They don't.

...what makes the Christianitys version of hell more true than other religons?

Because God has declared it so.

Christians put their hope in Christ. Jesus Christ tells us in the New Testament that only a few will make it. Also He says many will call Him Lord on judgment day, and He will say "get away from me, evildoers, I never knew you." that even includes some churchgoers.

the punishment for sin is death, not the hell version of being burned alive for billions of years. I believe hell and its words are often misunderstood even by many churchleaders.

but christians don't focus on hell (remembering the punishment for sin is death), we focus on Jesus Christ and God and seeking life in God. He is the maker of life. I don't know exactly all God's plans for those who are in ignorance, and there is debate about the age of accountability, I believe God is good and just, and have faith He knows what He's doing, we do our best to do what is right and continue to seek Him and knowing Him and loving Him and others daily.

Since the other posters have provided you with such wonderful answers to your other question, I figured I would give this one a shot.

I would say, we do not fear "Other" religions ideas of Hell and what have you, because there is contentment and confidence in having the truth in your heart.

As a follower of Christ, I feel at pace with my decision and it fills me with a sense of security about my soul and after life.

Gosh I hope this post made sense..I hope I dont sound like an idiot. Oh well, peace out.

I thought your post was fine, I have seen much worse.

Best, answer.... ever....

SSJB, the Bible says that one day every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father! IMHO, if we claim to be Christians, we've got to believe that, because the Bible says it. Believing the Word of God is part of what sets us apart as Christians..... (and when I say Christians, I'm using this term to mean "those who have repented and put their faith in Christ go to Heaven." (as MMc put it)

Some great answers. I must provide some clarification. A Christian is one who BELIEVES IN CHRIST AND HIS SALVATION.

Those who fit that description will spend eternity with Christ. Those who do not, the unrighteous, will spend eternity in the lake of fire.

The bible says that the "heathens" will be convicted because of their unbelief. They have the witness of their own hearts, God's creation, and their conscience that there is a God who created it all. God is no respecter of persons, and He is also eternally righteous. That means that He will NOT punish someone for something they did not know.

God has a plan and that plan includes our completing our mission of spreading the gospel.

Yes, it is possible for some 6 billion people to be exposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Is it possible for all of them to believe and accept Christ? Of course. Is it probable? No. God doesn't say that every human that lives today, or over the last several thousand years, will be saved. Nor does He say that they will all be condemned. He does say, that whosoever asks for forgiveness and accepts Christ will be saved.

Gosh I hope this post made sense..I hope I dont sound like an idiot. Oh well, peace out.

Allow me to clarify....
people who are forgiven go to Heaven.
Saved by Faith.
Faith in the one true God.
The one True God that sent his Son, to die for the sins of man.

I personally do like the word "religion".
It is very confusing.
I believe it even confuses Christians.

I know lots of people who claim to be Christians, go to church.....a Catholic church, Methodist church, Baptist Church, etc...
yet they do not have a relationship with the living God...and are not in any way assured of their salvation.
I also know many who do worship in these "denominations"....and are forgiven.

Many people are "born into" families where people go to church...and the church is known as a Christian church...and so therefore they are Christian. (so says the world)

I grew up in one of these homes. Even had a brand name "religion" on my paperwork when I was in the military. I was considered "a christian" by many. I was not forgiven. No way.

For the sake of this answer to your post...
I will clarify that Forgiven people go to Heaven.

So...how can we say that only forgiven people go to Heaven?
God said it.
Before Jesus came to earth as a man.... the people were saved by faith. Faith in the one true God...faith in the Messiah that was to come.
After Jesus came to earth..and died on the cross...people are still saved by faith. Faith in the finished work of Jesus on the cross.

This is the only way, according to God.
God reveals himself through Nature.
Yes, people go and tell about Him. But, he is also revealed through all that He has created.

I am not in any way threatened by what other religions say about their religion.
I know what the Truth is. I know what is not the Truth. I feel sorry for them, because they have been deceived.

So...how can I know that I am believing in the absolute Truth?

Well.... one may not understand this, but I will say it anyway.
When one believes in the one True God...and one has their sins forgiven, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in their body.
Again, God said this.
The Holy Spirit leads me in all Truth.
The confidence I have in the Truth....is from the Holy Spirit.

I have only Love for other people.
I will not force my beliefs on others.
I will speak forth the Truth in love, when I feel that God is leading me to do that.
I will pray for others who are not in the Truth.
God is the one who does all the calling people to Himself.
I just get to be used by Him.
But, He doesn't really need me.

Are many people going to Hell.
Yes.
The Bible tells me that.
The pathway to destruction is wide.

Hope this helps just a little.
Have a great night.
