Yes, for sure!

There are many different denominations.

You were raised Methodist, but went looking elsewhere.

1. We can move your thread to a denominational where people from a certain denomination can help you as a group.

5. Or someone can PM you and help you privately, but it's often helpful to get the advice of several Christians so that you hear options and can choose the ones that suite you best.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

In our Tradition (Orthodoxy) we do indeed look to those with more experience, given the responsibility for shepherding the flock, and so on for guidance. Scripture is clear that this is a sound method, both in appointed shepherds, and in the case of older women who teach the younger, and so on. It has been so in our Tradition since the beginning.

BUT ... The landscape of Christianity does now have many denominations, and those who follow no denomination, and those who make interpretations up for themselves (though I have no doubt that most of them are sincere). So there is much danger in being mis-guided, sadly.

One advantage of forums is that one can at least often read corrections of errors, but it does also mean that whoever is the "best speaker" sometimes seems to "win" and that person may not be the one who is actually right. But at least the public nature of forums offers some protection.

The most natural person to help you is a very godly person you know in real life, if there is such a one. It is easier to learn in person than online. But online (with discernment) and books have been very helpful to me personally.
