I do all of the above, enjoy them thoroughly especially family guy. It's not as if it's real life y'know! Should we not watch Friends or Frasier or That 70's Show because the characters are promiscuous - and they're humans not drawings! To be fair, I reckon you could find alot of reasons to not watch any TV show.

Plus, this part of the site is for any member - not just christians. So anyone is entitled to come up with a thread.

Okay... great thread!

I watch both as well. I own both box sets.

Honestly... when Jesus shows up in any of the episodes, we normally skip it, turn our heads or change the channel.

The reality is... we know that some of the humor, though well written and humorous, is also blashphemist humor.

If I could edit these movies, I would.

And... it just so happens that I have! ha ha... because I am an animator/illustrator by trade and have the equipment to cut out the things I find offensive.

When will they come out with a Christian button on my Digital Remote? Thats my Question! LOL!

You should watch all three, all the time, whenever you can. As long as you don't base your life around the three shows, I don't think you're performing any sin right? There ya go. :) Of course, you may find some parts of South Park offensive. But they did ban that Virgin Mary episode from syndication, so don't worry about running into that one.

When I was a kid, much to my juvenile protests, my parents forbid me from watching the Simpsons. Today I thank them for it. At its heart it is an adult show and not suitable for children, IMO.

I watch Family Guy, and take it for what it's worth. No doubt that the writers write hilarious scenes, but some are just over the line, like when Peter was teaching Sunday School and telling the kids about Heaven, and he then says "No, just kidding, you really just rot in the ground when you die." Or the time when at someone's funeral he takes a picture of Jesus and the incredible hulk and makes some joke. Or the Mel Gibson Passion episode. I did not like those at all. As for the rest of it, well there is a reason why I've seen just about every episode. :)

SouthPark I cannot watch. Before I had theological convictions against it, I did not like it for the annoying voices and the "animation" - I just did not care for it. But some of the content matter, the way they mock Jesus and the whole episode with aborted babies... I just will not watch it. I liken it to poisoning my own mind.

On the other hand, I know some very good Christians who do watch it. I don't know how they do but I don't judge them for it, they show the fruits of the spirit clearly in their lives. I don't know how they like it, but such is life.
