Is it logical, or Bibical to pray for another person?

My gut reaction was "NO WAY" - but that would depend on the nature of the prayer and the attitude of the petitioner.

If you knew that the other person was "taken" and asked, that would be ummm... skanky??? (And any answer coming from God would make investing in lightning rods a worthwhile consideration)

But what of two people - neither committed - but perhaps only one has noticed the other's existence to date? You could ask God to "put in a good word" for you, (so to speak), or to clear impediments, or to make your sight clear or to ... without violation of any rules of etiquette.

I honestly don't pray with the intention of God just "giving" him to me on a silver platter. I pray more for the chance to see. I guess I just want to know if I should or not.

By all means, if there is someone in your life who you think God might be placing there for a reason, pray about him! Pray that God might lead you to the chance, that if it is His will, He would open both of your eyes to the calling He has for you.

Amen, sister...just keep it "Thy will be done" and you sound like your on safe ground. :D

Peace to all who seek it,

I also have this problem myself and has been a prayer of mine for a while now. Is it wrong to want to have a certain girl? I have met one who is beautiful and loves the Lord. I'm not sure if she is the right one for me in the long run but I'm only 17 and don't need to worry about that right now anyways. But what is wrong in asking for a specific person to be allowed for?

"Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."
-Proverbs 31:30

Doesn't that mean that if I found a girl who loves the Lord that she is acceptable?

Hmm...It's certainly not a bad thing to pray for a person romantically. I do it all the time! If God does not want anything to happen, then nothing will happen. There are no verses in the Bible that say "Thou shalt not pray for a lover". Just make sure you have correct reasoning to like him, and not just physical appearance. Good luck!

I think every reply that was given to me in this post, can apply to you as well. :) So, read what the good people have to say and pray about it. I guess that's all you or I can do. :)

Which reminds me. Thanks to all who replied. You helped me out a whole lot. My sincerest thanks to ya'll. :)
