There is nothing wrong in desiring material things but one must realize that they are only temporal. But they can become an idol in ones heart then that becomes sin.

Jesus or Paul said to take heed and beware of covetousness.

Luke 12:15
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness : for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

A lot of people would say, " I don't worship TV, my boat, money, etc. but then we have to look at what is worship? Anything that gets our attention, our love, our money, if it's frequently on your mind, it is worship. God wants our undivided attention in order to serve Him. But there is nothing wrong with having possessions. In fact, God delights in blessing people who love and serve Him.

Nothing is wrong with money in itself , as it is a means of exchange. It's the LOVE of money that is the ROOT of all evil.
1 Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money,have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
