Someone asked a question because they wanted some input to make their choice. I strongly base my faith on what the scripture tells me. To do anything else, in my opinion, can lead to following the wrong spirits. Now with that you might want to say I live by law... to which I would have to say not true! I am a firm believer in the grace of God. Just I also believe that scripture is a way of interpreting truth from folly. We must all choose how we live our lives. If I have offended your beliefs, for that I am sorry. This is just what I believe. It's my answer to the question posted.

One should only follow God...not a bunch of spirits...
Sorry but you've lost me...(whose following spirits??)
I too believe in the Grace of God...I think we all do.
Now the thing is with scripture is that we are all going to interpret it differently from one another, we are all going to read into a paragraph differently than another person is.
If touching yourself is interfering with one's life than it is a problem...just as anything else would be a problem.
One should first desire God before they desire their spouse...does that mean they should never have sex with their partner on a Sunday as they should be spending time in prayer with God instead (desiring God first and formost)??
God gave us our bodies to enjoy...

Try, Galations 5:16 "I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh".
Lust from the dictionary says:To have an intense or obsessive desire, especially one that is sexual.

To me this means we are to live our lives based on Spiritual values, as opposed to every desire our body craves. That "lust" could be anything from sex, to power, to alcohol or to a particular type and model of car.

On their own these things are not bad, unless we base our lives around them, ignore the limits God has placed on them and compromise our integrity to get them.

We need to base our lives on God.

Why! Won't! You! Die!

Hey SD

If you really want this thread to end, just go to the OP, opening poster, gtsecc, and ask him to get the moderator to close it. It's that simple. He hasn't posted here for over a month as far as I can see.

And what is wrong with a piece of chocolate when a whole bar isn't available. I'm not saying that it is better than the real thing, but in certain instances better then nothing.
I'm kind of upset cause I just lost all my replies to this.

Anways, God gave the chocolate bar for both spouses to feed each other with and not a piece for you to eat by yourself.

Reguarding finding evidence in the Bible about Masturbation being wrong, well there is plenty of scripture where married couples have sexual relations is a good thing. However, there is not one verse that says masturbation is good in any way. If the Bible is your only visible authority, by default alone, you have to fall back on what you know to be good, and that being sex within marriage. Acknowledging maturbation as ok, is going outside of Scripture.

It appears to me that God gave the chocolate to everybody (EVERYBODY) and somewhere He says that it is for the propagation of the race. I don't know that He says anywhere that only a man and wife may taste of their abundant chocolate and that nobody else is even allowed to take a taste , a lick, or anything of their abundant chocolate.. I do know that God says that a person is not to taste of somebody else's spouse's chocolate (ADULTERY).

There's also no support for talking to people around the world in the bible, unless you talk about witchcraft, and we know what the bible states about that.

This whole chocolate analogy is beginning to get very detailed.:o

Maybe, but it says it all and you don't refute or give any passage so are you able to do that....give a passage where God says that only married couples may eat of the treat and everyone else may not even taste......if not, I pretty much figure the chocolate, the treat, sex, is for everybody to use in the right proportion.

Chocolate is referring to Making Love to your spouse. Not sex in and by itself. It is the complete act, the entire bar. If your definition of sexual relations with your spouse is not self giving love then it appears what you have left is for oneself only.
